Posted this in my Cats S.O.S. post, but figured it suits this forum better.

I'm actually coping really well! The first night was EXHAUSTING, but then I got the hang of it and after they got the hang of suckling the syringe the feedings go by A LOT quicker. I've actually been sleeping on the couch, my boyfriend works 10-12 hour days so I figured waking him up every two hours as well wasn't fair! But i'm doing great, and so happy the babies are doing great! Just reassures me that when I choose to become a foster I will already have good experience and KNOW that I can do it rather than hope.
Good to hear, and it does help when the babies feed easily. They'll be on solids soon enough and you'll get your bed back.

Good for you taking on this huge task! It sounds like everything is going pretty good so far.

I took on five orange boys about a year ago. Orphans, the same age as yours. Their eyes were

just starting to open. The only thing that made my situation awful was that they discovered

suckling on each others penis'. Please watch Falcor ! If his penis is dry and fuzzy...it's all good.

But if you check on him and his wet, or dried hardened fur, elongated looking or sore looking.

If it happens, you'll have to separate him unless your supervising.

Good luck!!

PS. Are you sure Fern isn't a boy? Look at that nose! lol :)

Everything's going as good as it possibly could, I think. I actually have caught one or two of them suckling on his privates, but only once or twice and they don't seem to be obsessive over it- there was no irritation or anything. I actually pulled Falcor off Irene earlier and you could see the start of a little blood blister on her belly from where he was sucking so hard. So i'll definitely have to watch that.

And yes, i'm positive Fern is a girl!!!

I also found a pretty patch of cream stripes on Irene's belly I hadn't noticed before, so she's definitely gonna be a dilute torbie.. I wasn't too sure but this, to me, proves it. Excited to see what her coat looks like as she grows.

Well, please don't wait too long before separating Falcor.. Especially, since he's the only boy. It really stunts the others growth because they

fill up on urine :( . They did grow out of it. Thank goodness. It was pretty nasty :*(

I confess I have never heard of kittens doing that! They do suck on each other - usually on the belly button, and it is fairly easy to keep a watch on them. But if they are full at meal times and sleep well, I would not separate them - they need each other for warmth and comfort, also later for socialisation skills.

Well, i've had the babies for 1 week as of 9pm last night. They're doing great and getting so big so fast!!! Their very front teeth began breaking the surface about 3 weeks ago, so i'm going to say they're about 17 days old and giving them an estimated birth date of July 6th. They are little chunkers and oh so sweet tumbling around and playing with each other. I'll post their weigh-in today when I get home, at work now and no access to a scale. Luckily I have a pretty relaxed job that allows me to bring them with me every day.

I already know one of my good friends will be taking one when they are old enough. Now to find four more wonderful homes for these deserving babes.

They look awesome! They almost look like they have siamese in them. Especially Thumbellina.
