Anyone in Nebraska want to save two tripod kittens

These kittens were born of a feral mother but are being handled. They are only a few weeks old, two little red babies, each missing a hind leg. The retired people caring for them have been TNR for years to keep up with the ferals and strays showing up on their properly and are about at the end of their energy and resources.

It's very surprising the mother hasn't abandoned these babies. Her last litter, immediately after she had the litter, (6 kittens) she disappeared with 5 of the kittens abandoning one tiny sick baby. My friend took that baby in and hand raised her and nursed her to health and she is thriving. The rest of those kittens must not have survived because the mama showed up recently only to give birth to these new kittens.

They are also in the process of trapping and spaying another stray (not quite feral) who had a litter at the same time as the above mama's first litter. This cat also had six kittens. The kittens are socialized, vaccinated and going in to be spayed/neutered soon, but my friend wants so much for the two little tripods to have a chance. Their house is already full (the other mama and litter will not be brought inside, but hopefully soon all will be de-sexed)

They hope to find a way to trap and spay this feral mama, but she has been avoiding the trap now for a year.

If anyone has any ideas, resources, please post. If you can help them directly, PM me for more details.

PS they would be willing to travel a bit....to meet someone half way for instance.

Thanks Lauren. I don't have a picture of them. Haven't heard from him in a few days, so don't know if there is any update.

I am surprised the mother didn't abandon them, like she did the one kitten from her previous litter, the one they took inside and saved her little life. It was shaky ground for a while, but that little baby is thriving now. But they have to draw the line somewhere, you know? They are older, and already pushing themselves with the ones they have inside now. We all know it can be hard work taking care of cats. Plus they have all the ferals they are caring for, including the other mother and her six. All but these two mothers have been spayed and neutered over the past few years, They really are amazing people.

PS I just got an update. He's going to try to get pics of the tripods. He doesn't want to cause too much fuss in the cat house the momma has them in, because he's afraid she will move them like she did the last litter. If he gets pics I will post them here.

Have someone drive them to me here in California

They are starting to get out and about now, my friend says they are polydactyl, by the way. I know chances are tiny that this thread will find them a home, but I had to try.

Can your friends look into transport to another state, west of them? There are quite a few organizations that work on this kind of transportation, Best Friends for instance.  I could easily get them into the shelter adoption system where I volunteer and they would have no problem finding a home (I live near Seattle). Or to clynn 11 in California.
