Catnip has been used in herbal remedies since at least the 15th century :)   I have read of its use as a diuretic as well as to treat insomnia, as well as cautions over using it while pregnant and more.  I'd do a good google search before using.

For info on catnip as relates  (mainly) to cats, read my catnip faq http://www.catniptoys.com/pages/Catnip-FAQ.html

I don't drink tea, but I know it's in the mint family and I love most mint flavored stuff, I'll even eat mint by itself, my boyfriend is hopefully going to buy me some catnip to make a tea with... though if I don't like it I'll try eating it by itself. :) My big bro's baby girl prec loves catnip

Have seen the premade tea bags at health food stores and some larger grocerys.  Never tried it as I figured the cats would get hurt.  I do have chamomile occasionally.
