I am able to get upgrade now but am having a hard time deciding which phone to get. Right now I currently have an iPhone 3GS. I have a pretty bad habit of having accidents involving my phone.
So my phone right now has a pretty badly cracked screen from being dropped. It has proven hard to murder considering I have dropped it in the toilet not once but twice.

So in my price range I am deciding between just a new non-broken iPhone 3GS or I could get the HTC Vivid. Other options could be the Pantech Burst or the HTC Titan (this one is only online).

What do you think, or do you have experience with any of these phones?

I love my HTC!.

My renewal is due in October so i've been looking at new phones now. There's two Samsungs l fancy the S2 and the S3. I've had two Samsung phones in the past and like them, and the reason i'm going for another one is because T-Mobile have told me their now leading the way in the Android market more than any other phone.

Their basically like my HTC to operate as well.

Check on the HTC patent lawsuit. They lost, but I don't know what implications it has.

If you like your iphone and can put up with the Apple app tyranny, you would probably be happiest with that.

I do mostly like my iPhone. I take lots of pictures with it and wish I had a better camera and a flash on it. Everything else with it I don't have a problem with. And I like how easy it is to use.

I would be actually upgrading if I went with the HTC it has 4G capabilities and a better operating system, plus the camera is much better on it than my iPhone. I do like that because it is Android, I have access to more free apps.

I guess you've answered your own question than--unless I am reading it wrong?

My thing is to go with the best phone that meets your needs and price range. Forget trends, fashion, yadayadayada.

I had an iPhone for the longest time. It fit my needs. But... I have a MacBook Pro and an iPod so the syncing was seamless.

I don't have a smart phone now, largely due to saving money. I have no regrets.

I am still kinda on the fence because my iPhone has not given me any problems. I have used other brands in the past and they have had various issues including one phone that just completely stopped working out of the blue and another the touch screen stopped working. I am scared to get a brand I have never used in case something like that does happen. But then again phones may be better made now?

I will say, I tend to gravitate towards Apple products because they tend to be more reliable (in my experience, everyone has their own experiences). I just don't have the time to get things repaired, fixed, in the shop, etc. On that note, I am grateful I don't have a smart phone anymore because I am not so worried if I leave my phone anywhere as it costs $30 to replace, not $300.

In the end, go with your gut. If you can, check out consumer reviews, etc. There are a lot of iPhones and Android phones on the market.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S 4G. I do love it and it is very smart. I went from a "Crackberry" (my hubby calls his that :lol3:) to a smart phone and just love it. I have T-Mobile and would have preferred an Iphone but they don't offer one yet. The next go around they should have one available and I will get the I phone. :wavey:

I just recently got my first ever smart phone and I went with the LG Lucid.  It was between that and the Droid, but the Droid you can't take the battery out.  It occurred to me that if the battery went bad I would just be out of luck, so I went with the Lucid.  I couldn't see any point getting an iPhone which is only 3G, and I'm not really into the apple stuff anyway.  So far I really like the LG.

Android all the way. The availability of free applications and the open source nature of the OS make it a much better platform IMHO. My brother bought an Iphone 4s when they first came out, he so wishes he had gotten an Android phone now. The lack of 4g data is ridiculous at this point.

So I got my new phone today. I went with the HTC Vivid. I liked my iPhone but since upgrading to a better iPhone was not an option I figured the other phone would be better for me. I made my choice based on the fact that the camera is so much better, it has a faster operating system and the fact that there are free apps. I barely had any on my iPhone because I didn't want to pay for them. I have been playing with my new "toy" all night and so far I love it.

I have owned 3 diff Android devices over the past 4 yrs and I've spent less than $3 on applications. All were games that were $1 a piece and were awesome! If I need something to help myself productivity-wise, I look for free apps. If need help getting organized- free apps. I never buy anything. Here is a good article with some good apps for you to start with.

Congrats on your purchase. Rest assured, You will not miss Apple.
