I just have three cats, and that's a handful. 

How can someone reasonably take care of that many animals?  At what point does it become hoarding?

I love the names you pick for your cats ! My favorites are Mewlittle Biscuit and Yoo Hoo. Next time I get a cat maybe you can help me name it.

YAY wanna se the name list i have on notepad i'm plaining on using for future pets? and Mewlittle is not pronounced MEOW Little like every body thinks and there is no space between Yoo and Hoo its YooHoo and he passed away he was Mikaela's son and Jazmine's Thumper's and Marty's brother

I would love to see your list ! I didn't think it was pronounced meow little, so we have the same idea there. I think it's cute that you give them middle names too. Sorry to hear you lost YooHoo.

Thank you and do you know what pokemon is? if yes there is a pokemon named mew its pronunced that way mewlittle >i did not use mew from pokemon<

and you can use Mewlittle for your next female kitty its more of a female cat name if any one asks if you made it up you say you got it from one one else

oh i edited my pets names I forgot to put Mikaelas middle name in there Calley no blanket don't have a middle name will we call her blankie sometimes tahaha

It gets to be alot when all need something at once(first thing in the am) or I am sick.  Otherwise it is just normal for me. I got more focused on the TNR of ferals after taking in my last kitten over year ago(thought if there was one the rest were to follow haha)  My "aunt" was a hoarder. She actually adopted the cat who started it all from a shelter and never had her or anyone down the line spayed.  Another shelter stepped in and removed over 100 cats. Under fed, sickly cats and kittens who lacked any vet care or home care for that matter of the simplest things.

and People say /I'm/ wierd! how in the world do you put up with so many cats IN your house? (27 cats outside I have done before, I can handle that) but in my house? no.  I love cats as much as the next person, but I can barely tolerate the three adult cats and 6 kittens in the house now!, they get into EVERYTHING, and between all 9 of them, I never have any time to myself and I can't imagine how much food those cats go through in a week.

that being said, I have 3 permanent adult female cats, 6 kittens, 1 of which I am keeping

and 20 something pet mice, I breed them.
 

My 5 ladies are enough for me....most of the time.  I see some I would love to have, but it wouldn't be fair to The Ladies.

I think it becomes hoarding if you have more animals than you can feasibly care for. (not referencing anyone on here just saying in general). So long as each cat is properly vetted every year and altered so there isn't any inbreeding happening in the house and there is enough space for everyone than I suppose it's just up to the individual person on what is enough. 

But, if the animals are always sick or otherwise unhealthy and are living stacked on top of each other then I would consider that hoarding. 

I think there is a fine line between rescuing and hoarding. You can't help animals in need if you don't have a place for you to sleep or can't afford to care for them all! What that limit is though I think just depends on the person, the size of the home, and the resources available. 

I live in an apartment so my two cats, 6 fish, and a frog named Fernandos is my max for full timers. I do foster but always limit it to one Queen and one litter at a time. I think the most I have ever had here at one time was 2 adult cats and 7 kittens. Believe me, that was more than enough and we were pushing it space wise!
