I just got back from a dr appt this morning. I go in 2-3 times a year to my regular doctor for blood pressure checks and weight checks. In the fall, I get a total blood work-up done for cholesterol, sugar, etc. Just made that appointment this morning for the beginning of November. GYN once a year. Eye doctor once a year. Dentist twice a year for cleanings. (Rick has both eye and dental insurance and I'm on his plan; I don't have that on my insurance.)
Seems that I've had a few health issues this year thus far, so I've been seeing doctors more often. I was seeing an orthopedist pretty much all throughout the spring and have finally finished a bout of physical therapy. Thankfully that seems to have straightened out and I'm done with him. I hate getting old(er).
I am actually seeing my Gyne this afternoon! Have some "woman" issues going on and need answers. I usually go and get a physical every year or two. Reminds me - I need to schedule that as it has been a couple of years.
Too many times... probably 8-10 times a year if you include all the "maintenance" appointments (eyes, pap, mamogram, annual physical, etc. plus I get my teeth cleaned 2X a year). Seems stuff breaks more when you get older and there are more regular checkups!
Once a year for my family doctor...maybe twice a year for the dentist (I hate going to the dentist), I get my eyes checked every 2-3 years or so...ever since the delisted eye exams from OHIP, it's just not in my budget unless I'm having problems.
I only go to the doctor when I am sick or need to go for something. I haven't been to the dentist in a while because I have no benefits. I went to the eye doctor this year for the first time since I was 18 (8 years) and it was covered by ohip.
I haven't actually seen my family doctor since before I concieved my 2 1/2 year old. I'm bad about going for routine well visits. I haven't been sick enough to need to go while not pregnant. Plus after my DD was born I hated the idea of bringing her there around all the germs. I've gone in there for a vaccination and come out sick. Plus it's always so busy the wait with a small kid....Ugh.
