Hi. My name is Ryan and I am new to this forum.

I am turning 14 this month and my mom said I could pick a kitty cat from the local Petsmart, which has cats from the ARF (Animal Rescue Foundation). Today, I was browsing the cats and one of them seemed to say “I want to go home with you”. I got to hold it and interact with it and it was nice.

The cat is a standard female house cat. She is spayed and has had her shots. I have noticed she has one blue eye and one green eye. I think this is cool but there is something I noticed about this that I just wanted to verify is not a health problem. The blue eye has just a slightly larger pupil than the green one. You cannot notice it from far away.

My mom has basically already committed to adopting it for me by putting it on hold until Wednesday when we plan to adopt it. Even so, after I get it home, do I need to see a vet about it? Is it anything to be concerned about and if so, what can I do to treat and/or cure it?

The volunteer who let me hold it and interact with it said she doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about but my mom and I both agree we should verify that. The cat is not in any pain for sure. The description tag said nothing about any eye problems.

The problem cannot be noticed from far away but still, here are some pictures of the cat with her rare eyes. If anyone knows if this is a problem please let me know. Thank you.

She is beautiful.  I can just about see what you mean - the photos are a bit small.  Did you ask where you saw her about this?  Or ask the ARF?

Thanks for the quick reply. The person in charge of the cats had to rush one t o the vet. A volunteer later came and also said she does not think we should worry. On Wednesday, the real adaption lady should tell us about her. -Ryan

If you can let the 'real adoption lady' know about your question in advance she might get a better answer for you than if it's the first she hears of it when you see her.

Hi Ryan!!!!! AWWW she is just so cute. You could always call a vet and ask about the one pupil larger than the other and that the cat is an odd-eyed cat. I found this picture http://www.neatorama.com/2008/09/11/odd-eyed-cat/ and sometimes it can be an optical illusion in these cats. In the blue eye - the pupil looks bigger. Good luck and congratulations on your new kitty!!!!! :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Update! I got her today. Really beautiful, quiet, and respectful kitty. Turns out, we were informed she is fine and healthy. Thanks for everyone's advice -Ryan
