There is a wicked storm going on here right now, and I know it's silly, but I just have this feeling that I should be like doing something, like covering Peanut's grave or something.  She's so afraid of thunder.

Over the river and through the woods...
I'm sorry about Peanut. It's hard to stop protecting the ones we love even after they aren't here. But don't be surprised if you sense Peanut sometime during the night...most likely Peanut will be coming back to comfort you.

Aww,,,

I was at my mom's the other day and we had a terrible thunderstorm. My sister's living at my mom's right now, and their dog Jake is terrified of storms. He sticks to you like glue when it is lightening and thundering. We had a good laugh remembering our old terrier mix Oreo
who couldn't stand to be IN the house when it was storming. When the thunder started, she wanted to be out in the yard, and she would run back and forth across the back lawn, in the rain, until the storm passed.

They are so funny and unique. I bet Peanut isn't afraid of that stuff anymore, and I bet that she knows you're thinking of her.

Your RB :rbheart: Peanut sounds like my Wendall. I have never had a cat so frightened of storms before in my whole life. He is absolutely terrified. We sit in the closet during storms. I made a special bed for him in our closet and he feels safe under the shoe rack on that bed. AND I agree with Mystik that Peanut is not afraid of storms or anything anymore. :rbheart:

I completely understand. The wife and I are Druids and we'll leave out food and drink offerings for our departed loved ones at Samhuinn, including our Deli. It's perfectly appropriate to still care for them after they have gone, so if you feel like covering Peanut's grave, then do it; it's just more loving energy released into the Universe, and what can be wrong with that?

Sweetie is terrified of stroms and even heavy rain.  The stairs are in a very interior part of the house, so whenever the weather gets bad Sweetie heads for the stairs and stays there until the weather has calmed down again.

Thanks so much everyone.  I think from now on I should give myself a 3 drink limit for posting.

LOL @ the 3 drink limit for posting.

Our Smokie is absolutely terrified of storms. Most recently, when a storm is coming we have made him a pallet in the bedroom closet, opened it and allowed him to hide in there. It is completely central.

In addition to that, DH, myself, Smokie, & bandit can all fit in there if needed for a tornado etc.

It is Texas. Lots of storms & tornado watches/warnings.
