Late this morning I heard one of the kittens cry out. I found Smokey unable to use her back legs. Have no idea what she was doing but since her littermates were nearby, I guess they were rough playing. Anyway, I rushed to the U.P. vet hospital and they made me wait for an hour even though I insisted it was an emergency. I was disgusted and left. I drove to the clinic near my house. They took care of Smokey but they had no xray facilities. This was almost closing time. So tomorrow I will go to their branch office and get Smokey xrayed and then back to them. It is a relief that they are open on Sundays.

Please send healing and good vibes to Smokey in hopes that she has no broken bones (although she is in pain which is a definite sign of some kind of breakage)

Oh Yayi I'm so sorry. You're having a really bad run of luck lately with your pets, and I know you're frustrated by the vet facilities there.
Healing vibes for Smokey :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:
Hopefully it's *just* a broken bone and can be fixed without too much trouble.

Did they check for a blood clot or saddle thrombosis?  This can be painful even though there is no external evidence of an injury.

I do hope it is not something like this as it is difficult to treat.  I only ask because it you suspect this it is IMPERATIVE that she be treated quickly.

She is a kitten and I have never heard of this in a cat so young.  It is often due to a heart condition in an older cat.

Unfortunately Smokey was put to sleep today. I'm going to close this thread and I'm sure Yayi will want to post a tribute in the Crossing the Bridge forum. :(
