I just bought a bag of Benny Bully's 100% beef freeze dried cat treats from my local (and trustworthy) pet store for $3.49. It felt a bit lighter than usual, but I just figured it was nothing. I got the bag of treats home and opened it to give some to Cookie and there was literally about FIVE tiny treats in there...the package itself has a lot of weight to it and the freeze dried treats are very light so that's why I couldn't tell in the store.

I'm definitely not feeding these treats to my cats, who knows if they've been tampered with or something? They were sealed, but still! I'm going back to the pet store tomorrow and I'm sure the owner (a good friend of mine) will refund me or do an exchange. My question is, would you get another bag of Benny Bully's or would you want your money back? I think at this point I just want my money back.

If I were you, I'd get ahold of the manufacturer through their website or 1800 number or whatever. It's obviously not the pet store's fault that it was empty, and maybe the manufacturer will give you a free bag or some coupons or something.

I would take a picture of it and send it to the manufacturer, then take it back to the store. The stores get credit for returned product through the reps, especially if the product comes in damaged.

It would not stop me from purchasing them in the future - it was probably the end of that particular production run and the last few bags just got filled mostly with air. They are a very light product, so it wouldn't surprise me that it would feel just a bit lighter than normal. I would exchange the bag for a new one and then open the new one at the store to make sure it doesn't have the same problem.

First off call the 800 number if you can find it on the bag.  If not, try to find it.  They will want to know about this and may very well send a coupon to replace it.  Take it back to the pet store and explain what happened.  They may give you a refund or an exchange as you've said they probably will.  Personally I would choose a different brand of treat until I heard back from the company but that is just my
