There is a house being torn down across the street so another one can be built in it's place. My concern (other than the noise) is the well being of my feral cats. There is a lot of dust and tools and glass all over the area..and the area is not fenced off. Sassy didn't show up today....I'm getting worried.

the most probable is, she got enough of the noise and lack of proper tidiness, and left for time being.

They do avoid strong and sharp noises.

OR she didnt come by some other reason.

They CAN get hurt on the pieces of glass or rubbish. But after all, adult semiferales are no fools. If they were unpractical clumsy fools they would be gone long ago. It is only the street wise survivors who are left.

No, I dont think the chaos out there at the construction place isnt not any real danger for them.

Unless it is where they live and do have their nest with small kittens. Or very old, half deaf and half blind.

The situation would be much more dangerous for a home cat, or possibly a young, yet very unexperienced cat, no survivor yet.

Good luck!

I wouldn't worry and think that your feral cats will be just fine. The house next door to mine was once abandoned and that is where my feral cats spent most of their time. Now the house is being renovated inside and there is a lot of noise. The cats have stayed away from that house and spend most of their time in the woods or under my deck at night now. Your feral cats will find a way to feel safe again and will stay away from the building and construction. I bet you will see Sassy soon. :cross: :vibes:
