Hi everyone. I just joined this site the other day. I stumbled across it while investigating weight loss for my one cat. I have two brothers, Gus and Ulysses. These are my first cats ever. They are almost 3 now. I found these cats in a shipping container at my work at approx. 5 weeks old. Ulysses wasn't thriving AT ALL and almost died on me. I think there was like 3 weeks where I was just constantly crying, but after daily trips to the vet, one trip to the emergency vet, many meds and fluid injections later my Ulysses is now a nice chubby cat. After he was well, everyone kept telling me not to worry about how much I was feeding them because they were kittens. I kept inquiring because I thought they were both getting big. Then BAM! at their one year visit, the vet giggles at Ulysses and calls him fat (in a joking way). He was 18lbs. I managed to get him down a lb. and then we all had a lull. Now we're working more diligently on it. He is now 16.6. Gus is 13. They are bigger framed cats and medium length hair, so sometimes they APPEAR heavier than they are.
I just love them to death, so now I'm here trying to figure out the best things I can do for them. I love the forums (they are very active and informative).
