My 2 year old little guy Cruise started having trouble when using the litter box. He goes in to pee like he always has but it seems to come out sprayed instead of going down into the litter like he always has done. We took to him the vet thinking maybe a blockage or stone, they ran a full blood panel, came back with extremely low WBC count and they are now suspecting something with his bone marrow possibly. (unrelated i believe) This literally happened overnight, he has been the picture perfect cat for the 2 years since we rescued him this just came out of no where.

He has not peed anywhere else in the house and he makes the effort to go to his box every single time, but we are now cleaning up pee from the tile floor everyday, wondering if anyone had any ideas?

He was neutered kind of late maybe about 4-6 months ago and they did say they felt some scar tissue, could that cause a difference?

He is still eating/drinking pretty much as usual and will play if i engage him.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm so sorry. :hugs:

It's not clear from your post - did they take a urine sample and conduct a urinalysis and urine culture? Any X-ray or ultrasound to see what was going on?

He has been to the vet and had a full blood workup and urine test. Came back negative for UTI or bladder issues. Negative for Leukemia or Feline AIDS. Vet said he is severly anemic and also has a low white blood cell count. He has an underactive thyroid and bad eyes also.

I just cant seem to get many answers. The next step they said if the thyroid medicine (which they upped) doesn't help the anemia they suspect an issue with the bone marrow, which woud than require a marrow biopsy which I understand is extremely painful. It would then lead to a blood transfusion to try to bring his levels back up.

We are kind of stuck at a fork in the road at the moment, wait to see. It's so hard to tell if they are in pain or not and I am worried sick over this. Can a cat live fine with anemia the thyroid issue and low white cell count?

Sorry for being all over the place just kinda of lost at the moment.
