Is this coincidence or Frontline side effect?

I give a few of my friendly strays frontline once a month. One of them had red skin and hair loss a few days in the exact area I applied the frontline, the cat was scratching the area. Was this from the frontline, or did the cat scratch her own fur out from annoyance of the liquid on her fur, it smells bad so I'm sure she found it unpleasant when applied.

I use Frontline on my friendly stray, Lucky, all the time. He occasionally gets red skin and hair loss in the area I apply it to, but it goes away after a while. I put some neosporin on there, and it heals it right up. Seems to be only a minor side effect.

Yes that's exactly what happens and eventually the hair returns. I was worried because this is the only cat to have this happen to so I stopped giving her Frontline in fear something serious might happen.

I would check with my vet just in case. But with my Lucky, it seems to be it irritates the skin in that area, but it's far less severe than the allergy he was having to the fleas, so it doesn't bother him that much. It seems to be a minor side effect though.
