Back in 2010 I posted about my parents having to put down one of my childhood cats - Tiffany. On June 13th, 2012, Alex joined his sister across the Bridge. He passed away peacefully at the age of 21.

Alex and Tiffany were litter mates, born in 1991 and came into my life as barn cats. They lived a mostly-outdoor life, stalking through barns and fields. They were the ultimate tag team. Alex, the typical tom cat (even though he was neutered) would start altercations, then run, leading whatever he started the fight with (usually our crotchety dog) to wherever Tiffany was waiting to drop on it and win the fight.
Nothing came on to our property that the cats didn't approve of for years.

Alex climbed everything and used to kamikaze-drop on birds from the roof of the barn, while Tiffany stalked anything that walked. As they got older, health issues brought them indoors a bit more. Tiffany was never a people cat - she's contort in the oddest way to avoid being touched. Alex, was the opposite - a complete suck-up. He loved attention and ice cream (he once ate the entire centre out of a cheesecake when no one was looking) and helped me keep the "missing-my-fiance" feelings at bay when I was working long distance and staying with my parents.

Today we took both of their ashes and made the drive back to the fields around where we used to live - the fields they stalked in their younger years. My parents, my brother, me and my husband, and my parents two remaining old dogs scattered their ashes in a shady grove near the fence in the field in front of our old house. I'm sure there are two feline spirits absolutely terrorizing the rodent population of that field tonight.

Have fun cats. It's good to think that the Mighty Huntress and the Grand Old Man are free to stalk and chase, climb and hunt like they did for so many years.

RIP Alex & Tiffany

 RIP, Alex & Tiffany

What a wonderful tribute of spreading their ashes back in the fields where they enjoyed spending so much time together. And such a sweet photo of the two of them together as well.

May they have fun chasing lots of mice and birds together, playing happy and healthy again across the Rainbow Bridge.

Take care...

What a great idea to scatter their ashes over their old hunting grounds. They both lived to a ripe old age and are now reunited forever. RIP, babies, happy hunting!
