So now there is an Ice Age 4. . Seriously? Guess what, same  story line- the current living conditions become unlivable so they go find new ones, just like in the ridiculous amount of Land before Time sequels. The first was good- they should have stopped.

Shrek.. Great movie, should have stopped at Shrek 2---

Lion King, Little Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp-- None of them should have had sequels. Are Disney & Pixar ever going to learn?

Same with Toy Story. SO what are some of the sequels that just in your mind "Should never have been?"

Now, to be fair, the movies you listed are actually geared towards children and their attention span is...what...10 minutes, if that? Unless, of course, they LOVE the movie and can quote it word for word for hours on end. I actually love all 4 Shrek movies and own all 4 plus the Christmas special. I didn't even realize there were sequels to The Little Mermaid and Lady and the Tramp. Were they released in the theaters?

I have a movie about Bambi and the time he spent with his father after his mother was shot. I like it. It definitely wasn't as good as the original, but I enjoyed seeing how Bambi bonded with his father and was taught certain skills to survive.

I do think the originals are the best. The worst sequels I can think of are the "Highlander" sequels. The first movie was awesome, but the rest are like "huhhh????" I'm sure I can think of more tomorrow.

Men Black 3, Rush Hour 3, Beverly Hills Cop 3, Die Hard 3, 4 and Lethal Weapon all had too many, awful sequels. Two was good, 3 and more was awful.

I know there are others, but the only one I can think of right now is Scream. The original wasn't that bad, but I was only 10 when that came out so that may be why I liked it. All of the sequels have been horrible.

Yep.. Little Mermaid 2 takes place after Ariel marries Eric and they have a daughter (Melody) who they try to keep Ariel's past from

Lady and the Tramp 2.. Similiar concept, Lady and Tramp have babies (as seen at the end of the original) and then their oldest son, finds out about his dads past life as a street dog...

Shrek for sure.  I've honestly only seen Shrek2 and the rest of those I've never seen the sequel to.  The ones for kids I can see.  Esp if they weren't done as a major release because some kids do really get into it.  I have to really like a first movie to bother with sequels.  And really I dont get into watching that many movies.

There were 2 more Lion King movies as well.  Yuck.  And we had to watch all 3 because dd at the time LOVED all things Lion King.

And yeah- we watched a bunch of the Land Before Time movies as well- the other child was so into them.

I sound grouchy.

I shouldn't.  Dh has sworn when we become grandparents (NOT for a while- that's what the kid who just graduated high school has told us) we'd watch every single silly movie with our grandkids.  His parents never really liked that- and he swore that he'd be different.  Maybe things are different with grandkids............

I have to say I really enjoyed Scream 2 as much as the first, but after that it was ridiculous. The Alien series was pretty awesome, my least favorite was the third one.

If there were no sequels we wouldn't have Return of the Jedi, Empire Strikes Back, (not to mention the OK prequels later released)

I was 10 when The Little Mermaid 2 came out and loved it- still remember all of the songs. 8 years old with The Lion King 2 and loved it. Not as much as the first ones, of course, but still.

I would have to say Saw, The Final Destination, Leprechaun, Chucky, Halloween... etc. etc. Most horror movies have too many drawn out sequels with a ridiculous death where the killer is electrocuted and burned and shot 10 times, but somehow survives and there is another movie.

They should have never made Grease 2.

Also... The NeverEnding Story. They made 4 total.

I was watching Family Guy the other day and Stewie was complaining about straight-to-DVD sequels.  His example was "Aladdin 5 - Jafar May Need Glasses"
