Is anyone else have it pretty controlled until you go to a smokers house?  I was at family's week ago for a few hours and have been using inhaler so often since.  I am alergic to cats, dogs, and all the smaller things I have been around.  But usually it is only when I do alot or a/c to humidity filled air I would need it.

Any tips for something to clear it naturally? (I try to avoid going or go out to some place in my no smoking car as I don't want to not see them at all).  I hate popping prednisone or using so much inhaler.

You need to be on a steroid inhaler on a regular basis. I use my sterod inhaler seasonally during the winter months because the cold bothers me.  I'm also finding that the extreme heat/humidity in the summer is giving me grief this year too. So I'm going back on the inhaler for the summer as well.

Only be decreasing the inflammation in the lungs, will you not need to use the rescue inhaler as often as you are.

I would use the emergency inhaler WAY to often when living with smokers. Moved out and it drastically reduced down though.  Also was alwaus getting bronchitis and have had it alot less.  I imangine my lungs have a bit of damage from it all.

Wondering if dr would give it without much testing as no insurance.  Used to be on random ones as samples from a dr now retired.

I think a grocery-store kind of walk-in clinic will prescribe asthma meds without a lot of testing and such. Shouldn't cost too much. Try a lower-income kind of area. . .apparently asthma meds are one of the most frequently prescribed meds on Medicaid/other low-income programs, and the clinics there should be accustomed to people refusing testing for financial reasons.

I only have an albuterol inhaler for occasional use. The doctor said if I need to use it more than twice a week I would need a steroid inhaler. But so far I haven't.

Go to the pharmacy, behind the counter get 'Bronkaid' or 'Primatene Tablets' they are avaliable without a Rx. They work GREAT, mostly because they have epinephrine & ephedrine in them.  No Rx needed, but will have to show ID and ask for them behind the pharmacy counter. Bronkaid is better because t is a one tablet dose.. primatene is 2, but same med. Look for the blue box, roughly $5.66 for 24 tablets also comes in 60 packs

in some places
