Mercedes my cat thinks she is a dog!

Hi, I'm the new cat lover to the block.......

Mercedes, my avatar picture, thinks she is a dog in our house filled with dogs.

One of her favorite games is to play "fetch".

I pull these tamper seal plastic strips off my distilled water bottles, Mercedes favorite toy, and will toss it. You'd think I just threw a mouse or something. Mercedes is on it like a shot!!

Then while I lay in bed writing on my computer, I'm a freelance writer, Mercedes brings the tab to me to throw it again; if I play like I am ignoring her, she takes her paw and starts pushing the tab my way trying to get my attention to throw the tab again.

Cats...you gotta love them.......

I remember the same happened to me, years ago, with a little boy I had.  I was really ill, in bed, and he obviously we getting quite fed up, so he brought me his toy mouse, I threw it, and that was the start of it all.  I could never get him to bring it closer to me, though, if he dropped it a little way away.  Mercedes is obviously a clever girl.

My cat Mooch LOVES those things as well!  My Mom used to work in a daycare and she had the kitchen staff saving them for me.  The way our old bathroom was set up there was a small ledge jutting out from one side.  It was a big garden style tub so plenty of space.  Mooch would beg you to go in there and flick them from the ledge into the tub.  Or she'd bring them in there herself and chase them around and around.  It's the one thing I miss about our old house!
