About an hour ago my cat started shivering and had her fur standing on end. She wasn't frightened. She was huddled on my bed with her eyes half closed. She is acting sick. Doesn't want to be touched, she cringes. I tried calling my only vet, but they had closed a few minutes before I called. She is nursing week old kittens. I'm very worried. Another cat of mine (male) did this too a few weeks ago but came out of it after a few hours. I am not going to assume my momma cat will be fine though, nor her babies. Would anyone have some sort of idea? She does eat still, but won't touch water, even after I scrubbed her already clean bowl and refilled it with fresh water.

Ring round all the vets within reach.  It sounds like she has an infection, possibly from some retained placenta.

If you don't get her sorted PDQ her milk may well dry up leaving you with kittens to bottle feed as well.  If she isn't staying with her kittens they may need a heat pad to stay warm, and weigh them each day at about the same time, preferably with a digital scale that reads in grams, as if they are not gaining weight you need to start supplementing them.

I would happliy drive 2-3 hours each way to get her seen today.

She had her placenta after each baby.
She's fine. Took her to vet, she got examined. Vet said she probably wasn't feeling well from ingesting the kittens poop and such. He gave her some medicine to settle her stomach. She's doing much better now.
