I have cucumbers in the garden! So I'll be doing bread-and-butter pickles tomorrow morning. And I have to do a bit of house cleaning and a couple loads of laundry. I may make some snickerdoodles tonight, if I'm not too lazy.

We're going to my sister's for dinner tomorrow night, so I have to make baked beans for the picnic. We're going to stay down by the creek where it's quite a bit cooler. Pork chops on the grill, pasta salad, baked beans, and iced tea and beer. And bread-and-butter pickles....
Afterward, we're going to start a nice fire and make s'mores for dessert. I haven't had a s'more in quite a while.

Sunday will be our day to work in the garden.

What's on your weekend agenda?

Hope you enjoy your weekend Pam!

My baby brother Brody is graduating this weekend! He has Down Syndrome, and we are SO PROUD of him!
His prom is tonight so I am going to take a bunch of pics of him and his date, Olivia. Can't wait! Sunday is the graduation, as well as mom's birthday, so we'll probably have a bbq to celebrate.

That's is such a great thing to be doing... Congrats to your brother!

I'm just gardening and sorting out the logistics for my cat enclosure.

I'm house sitting two houses this weekend, so each day it is one trip to my friends house to get the mail, water plants an feed her fish, and two trips to my brother's house to get the mail, water plants, feed the dog, fish and turtle and to let the dog out.

The rest really depends on the weather. I powerwashed the deck on Tuesday, hoping to stain and treat it this weekend. We are using a new long-lasting "armor" type product. The weather is looking a little iffy, so I don't know if we'll be able to get any work done on the deck. We'll have to play it by ear. There's always plenty of other things to do in the yard.

We plan on going out to eat tomorrow and maybe grilling on Sunday.

I'm really looking forward to the cooler temperatures.

No plans tomorrow. I might stop at a store to check out some sundresses that someone told me about that might be good for my shape. then again, I might not even get out of my PJ's and call it a Movie Marathon Day!

Sunday is my niece's 2nd birthday party, then my cousin's daughter's Christening right after. I hope it'll be a nice day for that!

I've finally finished marking final exams; the grade lists still have to be typed up, but that won't take long. The weather's supposed to be good - sunny and not too hot -, so I'll take Jamie and my Kindle out in the backyard and just read and relax.

ETA: Maybe I'd better plan on sleeping late tomorrow, as it's really gotten loud around here. Germany beat Greece (4 - 2) in the quarter finals of the European Soccer Championship, and people are celebrating. :lol3:

My mother arrived today for her annual stay with me. She is tired after her journey (she still flies at 98) so we will relax tomorrow morning and I will show her what I have done in the garden. Then after lunch we will go out for a spot of shopping. Sunday if she is up to it we will go to the Open Day and dog show at the local shelter.

Can we come over?  Those pickles sound great, and the snickerdoodles?  OMC!!!

We're enjoying a relaxing weekend -- I am doing my daily sharing and rescue contacting for cats incarcerated in "shelters" on social media, and right now my eldest is curled up on my lap, purring.

I have had a pleasantly surprisingly relaxing weekend. DH cleaned the house on Friday so haven't had to mess with that, then yesterday I called a friend spur of the moment and he took me out to lunch at a great Vegan restaurant where I ate myself stupid, then over to the Farmers Market. We both bought a bunch of stuff then went back to his place, sorted and shared it and then I came home. This morning I got up and got a workout in, went over to my inlaws and picked peaches, got a BIG bag of grapes off her vines, a couple zuchini's and some Japanese cucumbers.

I've cooked up some purple hull peas with green beans, red and green peppers and onions. I need to make a couple other dishes for the week but I'm taking a little break from the kitchen.

And, my vacation starts Friday and Thursday I'm volunteering at the Ronald McDonald house (my office is making lunch for the families) so I have to work exactly 3 days this week.

Saturday I did pretty much nothing for most of the day. I did spend a few hours moving my stuff from my old desk to my new one and reconnecting all of the hardware.  Still haven't fully sorted out where all of the contents is going to go though. Likely looking at throwing more stuff out.

Today (Sunday), I usually like to spend at home just puttering around, maybe making a nice dinner for myself. But I procrastinated, so today I did a good vacuuming of the living area, including my love seat. I took out the trash. I took out the old computer cart/desk. Made my lunch. Made croutons. Cut up carrots, celery, and radishes and stored them in a container of water in the fridge for easy grabbing for snacks. I did my dishes and I'm currently doing some laundry.  The last load is in the washer.  Then I'll make my bed, have a shower then off to bed to read.  Oh, I forgot! I went grocery shopping today too.

Didn't do much on Saturday, except a trip to Walmart lol. Today I went with my sister to a little farm in town and finally tested out my camera. (Oh and petted some calves and baby goats.)
