Turtle now has freedom over the whole house, but her favorite room seems to be whatever room I'm in at the time.
I was trying to have some "alone time" in the bathroom this morning when I glanced down and saw her staring at me. She was making those "eyes" at me--closing and opening them slowly.
I couldn't resist the temptation to reach down and stroke her head. She made a very tiny squeak that caused her nose to crinkle up.
That's when it happened!
Without even thinking about it I said it. The words just flowed right out of my mouth!! "I love you Turtle Love-Dove."
She responded with a string of chatter and wrapped herself around my ankles and very gentling rolling over on her back--showing off that tummy. And yes, I rubbed it. Just briefly, though, because I didn't want to spoil our moment.
I know she hasn't heard those words in along time, but she still recognized them.
Now I don't know cat body language BUT I think she was okay with it. She just pulled it out of me. So here it's grown beyond my feeling of just responsibility into genuine love.
I Love Turtle.
