Hi everyone! Just signed up a couple days ago and figure it's time I did the intro thing. My cat's name is T.J. Unfortunately we lost him three weeks ago after 15½  wonderful years. I wish so very much that he could have stayed with us longer but it wasn't meant to be. Before he came into our lives I was more of a cat tolerator than lover, I guess. We've had other cats down through the years and I liked 'em all okay but mostly they did their thing and I did mine. But T.J. was so different and special right from day one, he totally captured my heart. He is my "soul kit" and it's because of him that I am now and forever, an official cat LOVER. Think I might have a picture or two of my little buddy somewhere around here. Ah yes, there he is. Ain't he gorgeous?

I got a few thousand more pics of him but I think I'll spread them out a bit, eh? Maybe put some in the gallery. Anyways, about me: I'm 61, happily married to my first wife Sue for 40 consecutive years and have three grown daughters, two of which have presented us with 6 beautiful and/or handsome grandchildren. I love them all dearly, almost as much as I love my cat. I'm retired which I also love dearly. We live in Ontario, Canada about half-way between Toronto and Niagara Falls. I'm a member of a couple other forums but I wanted to join this one specifically so I could just write stuff about T.J. and not have people going, "Oh No! Not another post about his CAT!". Also I figure if you guys are cat lovers then you've gotta be nice people. So I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and also reading about your kitties and their assorted tales. See you all later.

TJsdaddy, that is such a lovely intro to yourself and your beautiful boy... Thank you for sharing.

It has made me think of those I've lost over the years and what a joy there were to have in my life.

(and I don't think there's any such thing as too many cat photos).

Hi and welcome to TCS! :wavey:
I'm sorry that you lost your sweet boy. From the sounds of it, he lived a life much loved and cared for by his humans.
Look forward to seeing you around the forums! Don't worry, no one here will ever complain about you posting too much about your cat! :lol3:

Hey, TJ's Daddy, look around; we have regular writing contests for stories about our cats, contests for pictures of our cats, etc.  And we just generally like to talk about them.

Hi Mani, pushylady and mrblanche: Thanks so much for the nice welcomes. I'm starting to feel at home already. I'm definitely interested in checking out those writing contests and like I said, I've sure got lots of TJ pics to share too. Every April our vet has a photo contest for all the clients so me and Sue  would snap a whole bunch of "The Teej" and always had a hard time picking out the best one to enter. So we'd cheat just a little and sneek in our favorite half-dozen or so when nobody else was looking, then let the staff choose the one they liked. That was just a tad against the rules (only one entry per client) but they went along with it because they were all pretty sweet on T.J. too. Worked out good for us because our little guy won a prize every year and one time even made "Top Cat"! Me and his momma were so proud that night, we called all our family members and bragged about our boy like he'd just graduated from college or something! The family of course, thought the two of us were nuts. Still do, I think. I dunno, maybe they're right.

Anyways, I'll shut up for now. Gonna spend some time tomorrow exploring the place and reading about all your furry friends. Thanks again for the welcome.
