Boy...... I am feeling the itch soooo bad!! I want a tiny, itty bitty lil Kitten!
:lol3: So not in the right place to happen right now..... But awwwww..... it would be sooooo good for my Bugys :heart3:
The rescue he came from has a pregnant purbred Ragdoll from a closing breeder...... awwwww.... Bugsy-ike itty bity kittehs! :thud: :lol3:
No way I can do it right now with my travel schedule..... It is not the money, or my place - it is small, but the landlord would be fine..... She was fine with Gracie there....
Here are my thoughts though: :eyebrows:
I paid off my credit card debt, paid off my car..... and now I am working on rebuilding my credit....... to...... ta-da! Buying a house :D
I want to do this in the next couple of years - Dallas is fabulous for houses.... Kiddos can have a cat-safe yard, huuuu......... and, my plan is to get a roomate to live there for free, all utilities paid, in exchange of taking ace of the kids when I travel. This is what I am looking at, for now..... An idea that I am maturing in my mind.... I think it would be good for the kids, as they environment wouldn't change, good for me, as I would save some $$$ and have my own place...... and maybe I can even take care of my kitten itch!!! For roomie, good too, this persn could study or work, and live for free for a few feedings a day  Sounds to me like a good deal!
Anyways...... sorry for the rambling that's going on inside my mind..... LOL
What do you all think of this idea? NUTS? Impossible?

I passed a free kittens sign(don't see that often in most areas I go but this town I saw it in you could expect that).  Between that and petsmart the day before I wish someone in family would get one as it isn't going to be me!  They had a black and black and white litter who were super young I was playing with them through cage a bit.  I just love the talkers when they are so young the meows are so cute.

I like your plan.  I could see it working out if the person has same values as you-maybe an ex vet tech who wants to do some writing or some work at home set up or if a college close by maybe a vet in training?.  I think with some searching you could find a perfect match.

Maybe you could do a trial adoption?  lol.  sorry I am wrong person to talk someone out of a kitten when they ONLY have a few.

Sounds like you got a great plan planned out!

I am itching to foster a newborn kitten or two to bottle feed.. just to get the experience. Then I think about waking up every 2 hours to feed them.. then the fact I'd have to take them to work with me to feed them.. then I'd think about Monet being unhappy.. now's not the right time!

Kittens are so dear! I never thought I would have THREE cats but last year my mom asked me to foster 2 one week old kittens. One sadly didn't make it but the other made it and thrived in my care and snuggled her dear little way into my heart. So foster I did not and now I have 3 cats.
She just turned a year old and is still very kittenish and a tiny runt [emoji]10084[/emoji]

What a great plan you have in place !!!:clap: AND yeah - Dallas has some amazingly gorgeous homes and you could build a wonderful outdoor enclosure or florida room !! I talk about that all the time with Larry. We are thinking of moving closer to his work place and would LOVE to find a home with an attached sunroom or screened in porch for the kitties. If we stay in our home, I am hoping that we can make that dream come true and build one on this home.

AWWW the kitten itch.. YEP - they are soooo darn adorable and just make life that much sweeter :heart3: AWW another little "goat" in the future  :clap::clap::clap:

I biological kitty clock was ticking for years!!  But Chynna was deeply offended when I brought Abby home as a kitten, and she never took to Abby. In fact she terrorized her :(  When I saw the way Chynna terrorized poor Abby,  I thought a kitten for Abby would be ideal, but I worried about Chynna because she was so jealous.

After Chynna passed on, Abby seemed to love being my only kitty. She could hog all of my attention and not worry about being chased away.  I let her enjoy that for about 6 months or so.  But my biological kitty clock kept getting louder and louder. I finally caved into it in January 2011 and adopted both Spencer and Katie. I brought both home because they were litter mates. Plus Abby is getting older and I didn't want to have to try introducing a second cat again. So I now have 3 knowing that one day in the not so distant future (Abby is 14 years), that she will also leave me which will leave me with 2 cats that get along with each other.

We typically don't do kittens but we have a special place in our hearts for Ragdolls, and the only way we could bring in another cat would be as a kitten as our bully cat, Simon, terrorizes adults.

Carolina - check your PM's.

I know how you feel, I had the itch too. It has now been scratched x7! LoL. My Brother in Law brought me 3 5 week old kittens he found on his mail route ( He is a mailman) about a month ago. I just trapped 4 feral kittens who are the same age approx as the 3 I got from my Brother in Law.  The 3 I got first are now tearing around my house like little maniacs and I am working on taming the 4 ferals who are still in the crate but are now crying to play with the other guys but we are still aways off from that but getting closer each day. I can atleast handle them now and they don't run up the walls of the crate or hide when I come into the room. I even got  one to play with me today which is a big step in what is still along road with them.

I also have 3 adult cats so I am at 10 cats total in my small house. I feel like I am living in the land of 2 year olds, I am constantly cleaning up toys, litter mess, knocked over items and I love every minute of it. The other morning when I woke up I found the contents of my purse including money all over my bedroom floor, my cellphone under my bed and my slippers in my livingroom.  I can't wait until I can let the other 4 out to play. My legs and feet will never be the same!

Nice thing is I have homes for all but 1 lined up.

The past couple of days were really bad.....kitten-wise. With little JoJo being here at work in my arms, I really wanted to take that baby home. She will have a home within the next couple of days, just not my home.

And it's OK. I was lying back in bed with Mollipop in my arms last night and it's OK. I really don't want another kitten right now. I would have taken Jo and she would have had a good home with us. But it's OK that it didn't work out.

Good luck with your plans, Carolina....I hope they all come to pass.

I read the title twice and thought it said kitchen itch  :lol3: I do love kittens, but I only like to visit- I prefer adult cats because you know what kind of personality you're getting, I've had kittens pull a bait and switch on me :lol3: I actually have a dog itch, I really want a chihuahua or a pomeranian, rescue of course, but living at my parents' that is a no go :sniffle:

As I mentioned up thread, we always take in adult kitties but have a special place in our hearts for Ragdolls. So this morning, I mentioned the kittens Carolina mentions in the OP to my DH and his response was "We can't take the momma right now, it would just be too much". I told him I was talking about maybe taking one of the kittens....he never considered the kittens, just the momma. :lol3:

Where my cats are
I get the kitty itch every so often.  It helps that I have a kitty who visits my yard to bird watch.  He/she looks well fed but I do leave out water.  It's been awfully hot here!  DH's allergies help me keep it in check.  Otherwise we'd probably have a dozen or more here....  hehe

The baby itch is far worse for me though.  I never had it bad till after we had DD.  Last summer/spring I got it.  In July my nephew was born and man did I get it bad when my step-sis was in labor with him!  Forget about when I saw him for the first time!!  Long story short...I have a 7 week old.

Apparently I'm no good with the itches.
