Awwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my heart hurts seeing him just because he's so obese.... but I'm also laughing and smiling, because he's so darn cute and happy! You can just see he's going to LOVE running around and properly bunny-kicking that toy when he's lost weight! :lol3: :D

I can't wait for 3 -4 months to have elapsed and see a similar video! :D

Wow... does he have bad hormones? Poor thing, he looks uncomfortable! I know how he feels--I'm trying to get rid of fifty extra pounds from meds side effects, and it makes me uncomfortable too, having to drag the extra weight around like that. But he's got such a beautiful face--and that cream-colored fur! At least he seems happy. I wish I could get as enthusiastic about exercise as he does. I guess the hunting instincts help with that. Dang it, I wish I had hunting instincts.

Can we have a closeup of that cute face of his, pretty please? :)

No, no hormone problem. Just an overeating problem! He is off to a good start with his weight loss program. We're only 1 1/2 weeks into it but he is right on track.

He is a handsome fella. I'll post a picture of his adorable face as soon as I can.

Me too! If he stays on track he'll break the 20 lb barrier in about 5 months. Won't that be something to see!

I got him the larger Kong toy thinking he would be able to bunny kick it but he doesn't like it nearly as much as the little crinkly Kong toy. He *loves* that sound! I'm going to get him the largest crinkly toy PetsMart has. It's bigger than the small Kong toy but smaller than the biggest one.

He's such a gorgeous, happy boy.  I read your nutrition thread as well... This is going to be fascinating to follow.

I think the biggest changes are going to be in that first five pounds. :D But yeah - busting 20 pounds, we'll have to have a celebration!

Ohhhhh...I just want to snorgle that big ol' kitteh belleh! He is SO flipping cute. Thank you for helping him lose the weight. He's already a happy, seemingly energetic boy. Imagine what he's going to be like when he can move around more easily. I can't wait to see the "after"!

He looks like he'd make a wonderful pillow though. :D
Good luck on his diet plan. It would be great to see before and after pictures. I bet in a year's time he will look so much more comfortable.

Thank you both!

I started this thread almost a year ago. Mickey has lost over 8 1/2 lbs since then. He will be going to his forever home in about 3 weeks.  He still has a long ways to go before he is at a healthy weight but his adopters are friends of mine and I know they will that excellent care of him.

Here's a video of him taken a couple of weeks ago:
