Hi there,

iv been reading this forum for a week or so and decided to finally join and tell you all about my little beyonce. shes 11 months old and VERY pregnant. i took her to the vets 5 days ago as i was beginning to think i was imagining the pregnancy having felt a small walnut sized lump move in her tummy a month ago. she got progressively bigger but over the past couple of weeks seems to have stopped growing. the vet confirmed the pregnancy and said she probably had a week tops to go. since then there has been a lot of movement...i cant stop staring at her belly, its so funny watching the babies do what appears to be somersaults in there. shes still eating, sleeping a lot. Cant seem to get comfy. we have put her a box in the spare room which she is not at all interested in lol. she doesnt seem to have a favourite place...shes just happy being near me. her nipples are very enlarged. im getting super impatient now haha. anybody have any idea how long after the babies start going crazy in her tummy we should expect them by?

If you knew when she got mated (rather than let her wander, unneutered) then you would have a far better idea when her kittens are due.  It would be very, very unusual to feel a kitten move as much as a month before delivery - 2 weeks is much commoner.

Really the only thing you can do now is to wait.

She hasnt as you put it 'wandered, unnuetered' she is a house cat and has mated with our male. As we expected funnily enough. They did the deed an awful lot of times so pin pointing an actual date is hard. thanks for your warm welcome. much appreciated.

The most probable he began when she got in heat.  Count from one of the first times. Say, the third of them, the rest was a fill up.

The problem is, some kittens may be begotten in the beginning, and some - at the end...  If it took more than 3 days with mating, there may be age difference...

If she delivers somewhat late, they all should do all right, but if she delivers just in time for the first, the latest may be somewhat premature - NOT good for kittens..

Although, cats can deliver days apart.  It is very possible these cases of deliver days apart are such kittens begone different days... And thus, everyone got hers ~ 65 days.

Welcome!

Good luck!

Thank you for that. i have to admit it wasnt something id thought of at all. there has been a lot of movement for a while now which im taking as a good sign. she seems ok in herself apart from being unable to get comfortable. i am aware that pin pointing an actual day is impossible. i was more just looking for other peoples experiences of when the kittens get really quite boisterous in there how long have they taken to come out and say hello :)

Count 65 days from the first mating and that gives the due date.  Also get the male neutered ASAP - unneutered males and kittens don't usually mix.  Males have been known to kill kittens, regardless of who fathered them.
