I bought a new computer desk and the assembly guy came yesterday to set it up. It took him 8.5 hours, completely ruining my entire Saturday. Anyway, that's another thread!

Now I'm moving stuff from my computer cart/desk to my new one, and while I knew I had a bunch of junk, I didn't realize exactly how much!  Now i'm weeding through it all. I managed to get all of my computer desk boxes unpacked and am working on where to put things.

I have 1/2 of a black trash bag filled with paper, and more to sort through.

Then comes the really fun part! Moving over the equipment.

Once I get it all set up, I'll take a picture and post it. My cats will love it, there will be room for 2 cats on it, 3 if I don't use the printer shelf.

Enjoy! Would love to see a picture.

It took me years to find my desk. I kept telling Rick that "I'd know it when I saw it" and we looked at a lot of computer desks. Then one day, we walked into a furniture store to look for a dining room table. I walked back through the one section and started yelling, "Rick! Rick! I found it!"
He came back to me, looked at it and said to the clerk, "We'll take this one!" They delivered it two days later (along with the dining room table and chairs that we bought at the same time) and I've been a happy camper ever since.

I love my desk because it's big enough for everything. The hutch has doors and shelves. The desk is large enough for my monitor, printer, and scanner. The keyboard drawer is nice and big, large enough for my keyboard, mouse, and trackball (I use a trackball in my graphics classes; it's easier for me than a mouse). The computer area is roomy enough for my computer and my subwoofer for my speakers and the router. Three drawers and lots of cubby holes. I'll have to take a picture of it.

Rick has my old desk. I had that thing for years; my dad bought it about 30 years or so when he worked at the hospital and they were selling old furniture. I guess now it would be called Retro or something. He really likes his desk, too (when he can find it, that is......it's usually filled with papers and receipts that he needs to file. How he can find anything is the mess is beyond me, but he always finds what he's looking for.).
