Just spoke to Kelly.... He has eaten well, and kept all meals today :clap::clap: I am so relieved
I have not stopped thinking of him for a second - my brain is going tic-tac, tic-tac, just calculating when Kelly is going to make home, how long she is going to take to prepare the meal, so I can call her..... :paranoid: :stars: :thud:
I decided to have her give him one last dose of Diagel tonight just in case..... Then things should be back to normal :cross:
I have absolutely no clue what caused this :dk:
Bugsy never threw up twice in a row like that, let alone 3 times in a row - very scary to see him throwing up all meals like that :eek:hno: Last time this happened in my house it was with Lucky, and she was blocked..... Took some serious work, days of syringe feeding for her to come back to normal. Thank Goodness, thank Goodness Bugsy wasn't blocked, oh my....
Now I just need to buy more Diagel, as this has depleted my stock, and that's one thing I do not like being out of.....
Thanks for the vibes :hugs:

Thank you :hugs:
Oh yeah, just ordered more from Amazon.... On it's way!
P.S - Lauren, I am not sure if you are familiar with Diagel.... I know Laurie is and uses it.... Every raw feeder should have IMHO.... it is heaven sent for emergencies... One dose stops diarrhea on its track. Kills salmonella and e. Coli on contact... It is great stuff.... And it is all natural too.... It has always worked wonders for Bugsy and all my kitties. Highly recommend it.... (VERY $$$ though)

:lol3: Was just looking up DiaGel..... WOW.... Pricey for sure. 1 ml on Amazon is about $18.00. How much do you give during an episode? I know you have posted that somewhere on the forums but can't remember :lol2:

Well, I don't buy from the amazon site - I buy on Amazon, but from Revival Animal - I believe is $11.99 ea, plus $6.59 shipping.... BUT the shipping is not for ea - as you add in QTY, the shipping doesn't multiply. My order was $55 for 4.

Usually it is a single dose. - Here is the key word :USUALLY :lol3:

For diarrhea, one, at the most 2 (one every 12 hours - but for "raw diarrhea" :lol3: I have never needed more than 1)

I am giving Bugsy extra doses as - 1. I have no clue what he has :dk:; 2. I am going through a bit of paranoia :paranoid: and just want to be on the safe side......

Sounds like the stuff is worth it's weight in gold! Better to air on the side of caution  We all know peace of mind comes with a steep price tag at times..... Who says you can't buy peace of mind :lol3: Oh yes you can, DIAGEL. :lol2:

Hey, I know this sounds strange but does Diagel help constipation too? I saw you mentioned it with vaseline. My vet said to use vaseline over laxatone for Toby's constipation bc laxatone has ingredients that aren't ok for his overall diet. But I need him to take something that gets his bowels moving and helps everything to just slide out
. I don't mean to hijack the thread, I hope you don't mind my asking. Yes we need to make sure everything is fine in kitty butt-land LOL.

Barb, I'm not finding it right now, but someone, at some point, posted information about a vaseline-colon cancer connection in cats? :dk: I don't remember precisely.

Lazlo was constipated during chemotherapy. We used pumpkin, 3 tablespoons a day. He didn't like it and wouldn't eat it mixed into his food, so I just mixed it with a little a/d and syringe fed it to him 3x a day when he needed it (but he was easy to syringe). PIA if you need to use it all the time, and if Toby doesn't like being syringed. :lol3: Sally's (mrsgreenjeens) :rbheart: Sven :rbheart: needed long-term maintenance for constipation. She used Miralax. That's what the oncologist and the local vet recommended we use for Lazlo. So if you can't get Toby to eat the pumpkin, I'd ask the vet about miralax.

Diagel has a lot of fiber in it (basically psyllium and oat fiber), but it would be a VERY expensive way to treat his constipation on an ongoing basis.

:yeah:
Diagel works great, and does regulate motility.... But you would go bankrupt.
Ok, Bugsy follow up.... He is doing great  eating, drinking playing, rolling around, being Bugsy :lol3: no more :barf:
He has been sneezing though.... So I told Kelly to start him on Lysine.... I think the stress of this ordeal got to him.... No discharge, not acting sick, so no worries as of now

Sounds reasonable if it really works as well as posters say it does (when compared to stuff that doesn't work well, so is a waste of money, or when compared to human drugs, all of which have negative side effects and cost an astronomical amount!)
