Just how often is often for combing / brushing a cat. Now that I have just Brandy, I gave him a great brush tonight and took eagles nest of fur off him. Its still warm enough for the weather for him and his coat seems thick - how often though should I do this. I could not get near Vicki without getting the "you do that again and your eyes are mine look"!!!
Thanks

Hee, hee, I get that same look from one of my five, therefore he doesn't get combed as much as needed. All of my kitties are longhaired, but some need everyday grooming, and others less frequently. Some of mine get combed frequently, 'cause its good therapy for me !

I think it depends on the cat. My little Granddaughter will brush my cat every chance she gets(lol)she is here at least once a week, and that has worked well so far.

I did have a long haired cat that I had to brush once a day or her fur would mat.

i brush my boys about once a week, but my sister has 4 cats and one of them is long haired and she brushes her almost everyday, so i guess it depends on you and the cat

I would like to brush my cat more often but the way the fur comes off, it like floats in the air! Great sprinklings of individual hairs casually float along...

I think one of the best ways is to dampen your hands and then run them over your cat. Not wet, just slightly damp. Its like giving your cat a bath at the same time too.
