So, I am a little overwhelmed right now... But, I just couldn't let my horrible neighbor get a hold of her... I started seeing what I believed was a Persian cat the week before!!!  I slowly got her to come to me... She is obviously a dumped off furbaby.  Very friendly.  Kind of skinny and a little matted but not in terrible condition.  I got her in a pet taxi with no trouble and took her to my vet.

We believe her to be about 5-7 years old.  A female, unfixed.  She has been used over and over for breeding.  Poor girl.  She was probably some horrible byb's kitten factory and once she wore out her usefulness was disposed of.  Anyway, we got her some flea topical put on and dewormed, just in case.  And shots, too, just in case.  All her labs came back fine and healthy.  She has an appointment set for next week to be spayed.

I am calling her Melinda.  She is very friendly, people friendly and cat friendly.  I think she may have been abused?  When you lift your hand to pet her, she fliches and cowers?  But she craves love and attention and she's a big time kneader.  She is so sweet.  She tries so hard to please.  She has a few other behavior issues to that I am working on before trying to find her a new forever home.  She seems kind of slow, as in not very smart.... Probably because she spent her whole life in a breeding cage I am guessing.

Anyway, here's her picture.

Aww, she's gorgeous! It's lovely that you're finding her a home. A friend of mine who feeds a feral colony found a Persian one day that she named Duchess. She had Duchess spayed and vaccinated and she lives in my friend's backyard (complete with cat shelter...or cat mansion, scratching posts galore and tons of food).

I absolutely adore Persians, and this little girl is no exception :D

I brought her in because Persians, as a breed, are not made for outdoor life.  They don't do as well as some others.  Plus, it turns out she is declawed in the front so she wouldn't have been able to defend herself!
Whoever put her out wanted her to die but was obviously too weak to do it themselves or too cheap to have a vet put her down.  I looked in the paper and around town and online for ads on a lost Persian in the area.  None.
Either way, she is safe and being well cared for.  King Arthur really takes care of her and shows her the ropes.  The girls are OK with her but really she seems to stick close to King Arthur or myself.  She is a sweety, though.  I feel so bad for her.  She doesn't understand basic commands like "no" or "Here kitty kitty"  she looks at me all confused.  So I don't think she was ever loved or held or petted... Only yelled at, possibly hit, and lived her life in a cage.

AWWW Melinda :rub: :rub: It is wonderful and kind of you to take her in :hugs: :hugs: You are right - she was most likely a breeding cat :sigh: People are so heartless and to hear that she was most likely abused  Glad that you have her now. Someone will come along and want to give her the life she deserves :hugs: :cross: :vibes::vibes:
