I'd absolutely freak if I saw something like that crawling on my screen!!!!

Morty looks puzzled and so am I. What type of lizard is that?

That's an Alligator Lizard. quite common in SoCal. Although the only venomous Lizard in the US is the Gila Monster, the alligator lizard still has a painful bite due to it's alligator-like jaws. They usually hold on for a while too before letting go!
