Hey everyone im new here, i need some help if you can :) my cat bella gave birth to a kitten 8 hours ago and hasnt gave birth to anymore since. is it possible she just had the 1 kitten? she is nursing the kitten, eating, sleeping, purring and she cleaned her self and the kitten up. iv felt her tummy but im not sure what kittens inside her would feel like. to be honest i thought she misscarried a week ago as her tummy seemed to of shrunk so it was obviously a suprise seeing her give birth this morning. she dosent seem to be in pain, shes not panting or straining. what do you think? is this her only kitten or is something wrong? oh and she is jyst over a year old and this is her first litter. thank you xx

Everything is fine, as she is fine.   :)

It MAY be just one kitten.  It may be another in there. You can only wait and see, as long as she is entirely normal, so be you.  Watch, but be optimistic.

Cats can deliver many hours apart, no problem.

She could have miscarrage this week ago, and ate up the premature foster. And proceed with bearing forth this healthy child.

But sinking of the stomach shortly before delivery is also entirely common, like with human moms to be.

Keep reporting!

Good luck!

Singletons are not overly uncommon, but they can be harder to care for. It's not always enough to keep mum interested or full of milk

She will probably come into heat early and often, during which time may not want to care for the little one

Weigh daily and keep a close eye on them both, have kmr on hand in case
