I woke up this morning, and my cat Delilah was in labor stage 1. She was panting and pacing at first, and then she layed down and continued to pant ,but kept switching sides and moving. That was at 10:00 a.m it is now 8:23 p.m should I be worried ? Should I wait ? Should I sleep with her? She's a first time mom and seems to be handeling it pretty well .. Please help me

I would wait and try not to worry. Leave the cat alone.

A very well know cat breeder use to say "the best thing you can do when a cat is having kittens is to go shopping and let nature take its course".

All my breeder friends would disown me if I dared say something like that! How terribly irresponsible

It's not normal to pant for hours and hours with nothing happening, is she in a hot area of the house?
Even in heat of 42c my girls don't pant
