Me and my girlfriend are going to be getting some kittens from a friend soon and was hoping you have any advice for us. When we first get them we were going to make a cardboard "corral" for them with litter, food and water, and a bed. Speaking of food what should we feed them? Would wet or canned food be better than dry and hard foods? Feel free to post any advice you have!

How old are they? They should be at least 8 weeks old (10 or 12 weeks is better--mama cat teaches them many lessons!). And if they are, they probably won't stay in a cardboard corral very long :lol3:. Maybe a bathroom or other small room? I do like to keep kittens confined when unsupervised for a while--they can get hurt so easily, plus I think it solidifies litter training.

Yes, wet food is better than dry--check out the nutrition subforum.

Be sure to get them into the vet ASAP for a checkup, shots, and de-worming.

They should be spayed/neutered by 4 months of age, especially if you have a mixed-gender pair.

Have fun with your new kitties! And post pics!
