I take in strays and find them homes. I found one a home and a few weeks later found out she was pregnant and I took another pregnant one into my home at the same time. They had the babies on the same day (May 12th). I found homes for most of the kittens already but Im holding them till July 4th when they will be about 8 weeks old. Meanwhile the mom cat I have is crying to go out all the time. I cant afford to get her fixed however there is a program that will help me get her fixed. They said that it would be ok to get her fixed even though her babies will only be 6 weeks at the time of her spaying cause the flow doesnt stop as long as the babies are suckling but Ive read things saying just the opposite. I just dont want her to go back out there and have more babies for me to have to find homes for cause the lady that lived here before me had hundreds that she just let reproduce over and over and Im having to clean up this mess. Dont get me wrong I love helping the strays in the community but by her allowing them to keep reproducing it over populates the community and my neighbors aren't cat ppl so they dont care if they live or die. What can I say Im an old softy when it comes to cats. I dont like see anyone/thing homeless it breaks my heart. If I can help I do. Anyhow, the main point of this rant is how harmful can it be for the mom to be fixed when her babies are only 6 weeks.

I'm not sure about that..but you are correct not to let her out until she is fixed.

She wants out so bad it breaks my heart I figure she will be ok to go out for a little bit once I get her fixed I just want to make sure Im doing the right thing by getting her fixed so soon. I actually take in strays and find them homes and I found homes for all but one of her babies and herself already (for when she is done nursing of course)

Love to hear that there are people like you out there helping to TNR feral/stray cats. :hugs: There is such a need  Sounds like you are making a huge dent in decreasing the amount of kittens being feral born in your area :high5: :thanks:

I would wait another week or so till the kittens are weaned and then get her in to be spayed right away. Don't let her out not matter what antics she is displaying. Just try to ignore her anxiety over the subject. She is most likely in heat again and wants out to breed. If you think she is done with the kittens and is pushing them away, then it is time to get her spayed. Let us know how it goes!!! Thanks for all of your efforts to help the cats. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

The first one is Tabby found her home turned out she was preg she had her kids may 12th we are finding them homes to go to when they are ready

The second one is Lady I knew she was preg so we took her in and she had her kids the same day finding them homes when they are ready also

Third I call Fluffy she lives outside with her litter that appear to be about 2 months old they still feed off of her as well as eat the food I put out for her and she appears to be preg again. I want to find them homes but the kittens are to fast and Im not sure if I should take the mom away from the kittens or not *any input on that would help*

Last is B.O.B (short for bag of bones cause she was so thin) I found her and her 3 kids a home already

BEING A CAT LOVER IS A LOT OF WORK

That last photo of the grey stray looks like a silver tabby baby, much like my american shorthair silver tabby.

Thank you for saving these kitties!
