I usually don't get involved in on-line blogging, but found this site very interesting and informative! I am looking forward to chatting with everyone and ready your stories.

I have a very unique kitty named Creese, a male. I got him at about 6-7 weeks old and he is about 2 years old now. He is mostly white with some gray markings and has somewhat long hair - which is everywhere! I am always finding hair clumps and try to brush him regularly. He doesn't seem to clean himself as much as cats are known to do and he gets hair knots and dingle-berries on his butt. I am always picking at him to help keep him groomed. I have given him a bath on occasion and didn't realize how yellow a white cat can get - he is an indoor cat, but has a balcony he likes to chill on and watch birds and squirrels. He is quite unique and has qualities that I have never, ever seen in a kitty before - it is entertaining to say the least. He has a water fetish and I have to keep his water bowl in the kitchen sink, otherwise I will be forever cleaning up water off the floor because he likes to play in water. He walks around sometimes with his toy mouse in his mouth, meowing strangely and just walking around like he is trying to find a good place to put his mouse. I am puzzled by this behavior and have read many posts from you about similar behavior. I even read a post where this behavior was a sign of illness, so I plan on keeping my eye on this ...

I play with Creese and he is not a lap kitty - he likes to play aggresively, but I chalk this up to him being a male. I would love for him to be more loving and am working on calming him down a bit. Any suggestions?

Where my cats are
Welcome to TCS!  He sounds like a typical kitty to me!  I think those sort of grooming issues are normal with long hair kitties.  And one of my cats always splashed in the water.  I've read on here before that cats have a difficult time seeing up close so they will splash the water to see where it is.  Putting a few marbles in it helps.  I got a cat fountain that keeps the water moving and that solved our problem.  My 2 will "chirp"-meow sometimes with their toys when they are feeling frisky.  I'm not sure if that is what your kitty is doing.  I'd ask in the behavior forum.  They're a big help over there!
