I'm a little worried about one of my kitten's weights. I've kept track of them each day and everyone was getting so fat but today kitten #2 only gained 2 grams. She's still nursing and everything. The main reason I'm worried is because I'm supposed to go out of town overnight tomorrow! I won't be able to check up on them for about 24 hours.. :-/

I don't even weigh mine. I too have a teeny one...the female is quite a bit smaller than the males. I just check for nice round bellies. If the momma has milk then the kitten should be totally fine.

There isn't really much you can do even if you wanted to.. besides bottle or tube feeding and sitting there while they nurse to make sure that one nurses on a back teat and doesn't get pushed off.

I had many days like this where I worried, but I came to find that one day when they gained so little, the next day theyd be the one gaining the most and so on. Your chart also shows Kitten #1 gaining only 2 grams yesterday, it fluctuates. So many days I was over-analyzing to only be proven wrong when they gained a massive amount next time. Don't worry. The chart looks like they've all been gaining great weight!!!

The starting weigh was little lower than siblings, but 98 grammes is still good.  So she does have quite some marginals if need be.  Good you are observant as it is supposed to be, but as the others said, dont worry as yet.  Some fluctuations are allowed and do occur.

Good luck!    *vibes*

If the next weight gain for that kitten is tiny I would start to worry and seriously consider supplementing it.  It's unfortunate you have to go away just as something is concerning and needs watching.  Can someone else weigh them today?
