My name is Lisa Jack. I am from eastern Tennessee. I absolutely adore cats and have all my life. At this time, we have 2 cats. One is a male white domestic shorthair with a 7/8 black tail named Whitey. I have never seen a cat colored in such a way! He is around 6 years old. I don't know for certain because he showed up here one day (We have a pet door so that our cats can go in and out as they please.) and has been our cat ever since. Our other one is a female tabby mix named Tiffany, so named because she is all different colors, like some styles of Tiffany lamps. I call her a Tabby mix because her throat and the lower half of her cheeks and parts of two of her feet are the only parts of her that are white. She is around 8 or 9 years old. Our veterinarian guessed that age. She also showed up here one day. Actually, it was at night after my husband had left for work (third shift at that time). I heard her outside meowing. I went outside to see about her and she was quite thin. So I gave her some food and water. She ate as if she were starving. I continued feeding her outside until a couple of days later when she discovered our pet door. Since then she's mostly been an inside cat. She likes to go outside only once per day and then it's usually not for long - an hour tops. They are both beautiful. As soon as I get some pictures of them on our digital camera I will post them. My husband has always been a cat lover, also, so that works out great for our marriage!

If anyone has ever seen a cat colored like our Whitey, white except for a 7/8 black tail, please let me know. I would love to know that he's not the only one!

Lisa Jack

Dear MoochNNoodles,

Thanks for responding to my post. I will have some pictures of my babies as soon as possible. One of them, the male, Whitey, has an ulcer on one of his ears. It is almost well. Once it is, I will get a picture of him and in the meantime, I will do my best to get a good one of our female, Tiffany. They are both such sweet cats. I love them so much!!!

You are so right about eastern Tennessee, with its rivers, lakes and mountains. Where I live it is just a 45 minute drive to some lovely camping, picnicking and fishing areas, and another 45 more to some even more beautiful locations for enjoying nature. I always wanted to live by the ocean, but if I ever did I would miss the mountains and rivers SO MUCH!!!
