That's too cool! I hope you go on that date and have a great time! I'd meet him in a public place though... just to be safe. I know he's probably fine but it just makes me nervous. Ok... just call me mother hen!

I met my husband online if it makes you feel any better. I was really reluctant about the whole online dating thing because I have always heard bad stories from friends. Zack and I went out about 2 weeks (Sept. 2001) after he first emailed me, and we hit it off ever since then. We went to Colorado Springs for a week after Christmas, and I remember telling my mom right before we left:"If I can survive this long drive with him, I can probably spend a long time with him" Well, about 3 weeks later on my birthday (Jan. 14, 2002) he purposed! We were together 4 months. We decided we didn't want a long engagement, so we were married August 10, 2002; just short of being like 2 weeks since a year when we met. Zack and I just celebrated our 1st year anniversary last month, and we are very much still in love. You see, having faith can always bring good things. Good luck!

OMG! I just got off the phone with Ric!!! He is SOOOOOOOO nice! We chatted for about 30 minutes or so. He's a chatterbox too...surprised me because he doesn't write much. We're setting a date...we've got some days picked out & now we're fine tuning it. He wants me to call him tomorrow!

I'm just so excite guys...he was the sweetest! I'm just hoping that we've got more things in common and maybe something more can happen with us.
I just can't get over how freakin' nice he was!!!!
Just had to share...I'm pumped right now!

These things do work out. Rob and I met online in mid-September 2001. We've been together ever since.
Good luck Shell!

Thanks Bren & Rayne!
I have had great luck with online dating in the past. I had a relationship that lasted 3 1/2 years from it...the entire time we were "together" we lived 500 miles apart. The distance thing is what drove us apart the most. It was very hard to deal with.

I do hope that Ric & I hit it off, but if we don't I'm sure we'll become friends at least. Either way, it's a win-win situation.
Thanks again...and Rayne, glad to hear that the online thing worked for you! That's great!

*smiles*

You should probably not do what I did though! We met in September, met in person in October. We're both Roleplayers (D&D) and he invited me up to play a session with him and his buddies. I readily jumped at it. Ummm. I went up Friday, October 12, 2001. Um... I haven't left?

LoL

Wow...that's ballsie!

I learned from the past online relationship. I was SO naive! He flew in & I met him at his hotel...and I spent the entire weekend with him. Plus, I didn't tell anyone what I was doing! I was so stupid for doing that...luckily it all worked out ok. But now, I've realized that you can't trust everyone & you need to watch your back.

Best of luck with your relationship...sounds like it's going great for you!

I'm so nervous right now...I've gotta call him in a few minutes & I just don't know what to say. I haven't done this dating stuff in quite a while...I hate it! First impressions are everything ya know...

I just hope I don't sound like a complete goober!

Well..I did it!
He's still such a nice guy...and he totally cracks me up! We were both kind of nervous...so we kind of stumbled a bit. But, it went well...and he's going to call me this weekend sometime. YAY...we're definitely hitting it off!

Right here! :)
Have you called him yet??? I´m so excited!
I refused to give my s/o my phone number before we met, to make it as much "blind date" as possible. He, well, my friend really, cheated and gave him some photos of me, so I wanted to see photos of him as well. Otherwise I wanted it to be completely "blind", just for the fun of it, but since we already saw each others photos, that wasn´t possible.

I was to slow posting my reply, you had allready answered my question!!!

I got a little tied up by watching "Bob the Builder"
Those of you that have kids, do you have that in the US? I think it´s British, at least it´s similar to Postman Pat.

Yep, just talked to him. He called me last night & we chatted for a while. He's so friendly & polite...which kind of threw me for a loop. I'll be the first to admit that I've got a potty mouth at times & I was afraid that he didn't. But we were chatting away and he said S*&%...I busted out laughing & after that we talked like we normally would to anyone. It was like we were both worrying about the cussing factor for some crazy reason...now we just let it fly!

He's just too cute about some of the things that he says...he teases me about some of the phrases I always say too. It's nice to know that he's got a sense of humor & loves to joke around.
