We have number 5! And it's a girl!!! Black and white, a mere 53g. And at least one more on the way for sure.

Ahhhh! She broke the streak! Tiny little thing!!! Wow, what a big litter for such a small momma! Definitely explains the weights- she was running out of room in there!! Haha.

Baby #6 is a girl, she is 73g and is a black and white tabby. And you guys won't believe this but I'm 70% sure I feel another baby... This is the largest litter I've ever fostered 0_o

Oh wow! You are going to have your hands full! I have 8 seven week old kittens running around the house right now, three from one litter and five from another. It's madness!

Loooooove the sweet new babies! I thought my momma had one left in there too, I REALLY thought I could feel it and even feel it moving, but nope- there was no more. I read that it's normally the uterus contracting back to normal size that you're feeling. Congratulations on a healthy delivery for your foster family! I just rescued a feral foster mom and her four babes today- I am now up to 12 kittens total from 3 different litters! It's insane!

Cypress has turned aggressive. she attacked my grandmother this morning, bit her pretty bad in several places, my grandmother was scooping her litter box at the time. I've never dealt with an aggressive or rather a bipolar mother before. I can hold the kitte a ext and she's fine but emptying litter boxes, refilling water, moving anything in the room sets her in a rage. How do I deal with this? My grandmother is pretty badly shaken up by te event, she's a gentle and meek woman.

OH i'm sorry about your grandmother! I hope she is okay! Is Cypress in a crate? Or a box? Or anything like that with the babies? Is there any way you can like, put a sheet or towel blocking her view when you decide to change litterbox/water/food, etc? My momma cat became VERY aggressive with our dog towards the end of her pregnancy and about the first week and a half after. She would lunge onto his face and sink her teeth and nails into him while he just quivered and yelped. For no reason at all other than seeing him. I ended up having to place her in the closet and hanging a sheet to block her view- after that we never had another attack. Also, obviously, i'd highly recommend making sure you're wearing clothes that are thick and full coverage when you enter the room... and perhaps even gloves? Hopefully she will calm down a bit after she's settled in. Sending many positive vibes!!!

Well I may have found part of the problem, just went int there to check on her and #7 was there, a stillborn grey tabby girl off in a corner. I didn't see a placenta but I'm hoping momma ate it. She has a good bit of blood around her vulva area. She is in a box, in a tiny half bathroom. I may move them to a large carrier so she can feel more secure and I can lock her in while cleaning. I just buried the baby, she must have had it about ten minutes before I came in. Unfortunately the sheet idea is great but I don't think it would work in this space.

Awe poor sweet baby
but I bet you're right along with the agitation of giving birth and there being a stillborn, momma's probably just stressed. Hopefully now that you've buried baby and she has her 6 healthy ones she'll settle in and calm down a bit- but the larger carrier for extra security for her.... and extra protection for you is a great idea!!! Lol.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother! I would be shaken up also.

Too bad about the stillborn.
Hopefully that was the problem and she won't have any more troubles after this. Wow, big litter! Can't believe she had seven in there!

Poor Cypress...

Please take grandma to the doctors.  Cat bites go septic very quickly and need treating.  My GP told me last year that they always treat cat bites with antibiotics (guess why I was there?) but not necessarily dog bits.  I had 7 days of a high dose of antibiotic.

So sorry for grandma, she could at least call her doc to see what to do.

Has she settled at all since then?  That's at lot of kittens to take care of but they are super cute!

She saw a doc and is keeping an eye on it, we treated it with iodine immediately after. So far no redness or swelling, fingers crossed! All the other babes are doing well, little runt girl is eating good and catching up in weight. Some strange news, one o the grey and white tabbies eye is open! All the way! That's pretty early, hopefully nothing to be concerned about. Will post a picture soon!

I'm sorry about the stillborn.
Hopefully that was what was wrong with momma and things will go smoothly from here.
