This is a picture of Little Tipper in the vets office.

I was crying when i went to the vet this morning but lets be honest, ive been crying about her decline for a week. Last night she screamed for 3 hours because Mama wouldnt come to her, she was alone. Poor baby. Our company wasnt what she wanted. To be fair, mama wasnt going to any of the kittens last night for those 3 hours. She hid and took a break.

I took her to the vets. They gave her antibiotics, iv fluids, & a dewormer. They are concerned about the white stool but her weight wasnt too terribly bad & she wasnt at the point they would concider euthinasia as the best option. Yes, i asked because i was in tears, i asked if she had a chance & with the meds they gave her, she deffinately had a fighting chance. she said that medically she's not too terribly bad but she did need vet care for the dehydration & an attempt on antibiotics.

We're hoping our "original tipper" is looking after her & taking good care of her from up above. The "orignal tipper" died of cancer 2 years ago & she was my husbands cat & the reason why we met. They got their name because they get up on their tiptoes when petted and loved on or even scared & hissing. Only 2 cats we've ever had in our life that did that behavior.

I was also told that without knowing her background since Mom was a pregnant stray, that it could be genetic or something she was born with & its starting to show itself now.

I have had to take her away from mom & sibilings just incase its an infection. Poor baby girl hates being alone.

To be honest if it is an infection I would imagine they have all been exposed to it for some time.  If mum will suckle her I'd leave her with her mum - it's the best food for her right now by some distance.

Please weigh all the kittens once a day at about the same time.  You need a cheap set of digital kitchen scales that weigh to 1g.  This little one will have been failing to gain weight for some time, and that's a bit warning that there is a problem.  I reckon that even if you normally use pounds and ounces to weigh things, grams are easier for tiny kittens as you don't have to deal with decimal points, and you are looking for 10g or more weight gain per day which is a nice round number.

we dont have money for a scale. i just spent all the money i had to take Tipper to the vets & i have nothing, literally nothing, until June 1st. She told me to start them all on wet food. I worry about their size but Mama has always been tiny until she was almost to term, then she was a whale. Shes tall & slinder but healthy weight. I think they're all going to be a bit tiny. The vet took one look at the mama & kittens & told me she isnt manx. she has bobcat or lynx in her blood lines. They're not fully domesticated cats but she cant tell me if its grandparents or higher that the mix took place.

If you dont afford a scale, you can perhaps lend a scale from some neighbour?  In times of need it IS socially acceptable to ask for help in such things, asking also people you normally dont speak with much.

The same sociale rule demands they do lend you this favor, if it isnt too big difficulty for them.

If they seem reluctant to lend to a cat, promise you will clean up this scale thouroughly.   :)

I guess many people does have such kitchens scales, they are normally rather cheap.

God luck!   *vibes*

I will go to the store & get one if i have too. Tipper isnt the only kitten of the bunch sick. As i was feeding them wet food i noticed a kitten with white dirreah. Now im scared im going to lose the entire litter. Ive called the vets & just waiting on a call back. I want them all to get antibiotics. Nobody else is dehydrated & i think they're losing weight too. I need that scale so i am going to get it and if i cant borrow one, i will buy one myself even if i have to overdraft my bank account. I do not want to lose these babies.

I just dont fully understand, Mama is not sick & our 8wk old kitten in the house is not sick (and he does nurse from the queen even tho we've been doing our best to stop/prevent her from doing so, constantly in their nest & hands on with this litter, playing, sleeping, eating, ect...)

I just dont understand this.

I can get suitable scales in the UK for under $20, but it's worth asking any neighbours.  If you find one that weighs in ounces that's better than nothing so long as you can judge part-ounces.

What exactly are the kittens getting fed other than being suckled by their mother?

How old are the kittens?  Was mother wormed, and if they are old enough have the kittens been wormed?  Don't go out and get a wormer, just wanting to know.
