So... Pixie should be around 65 days pregnant and there is no sign of her being anywhere near labour.

She has had all the usual symptoms, she hasn't been in heat since the end of march, her nipples went pink and got larger and she lost some hair around them, she has been nesting, and more affectionate towards me,  she also carries around a small stuffed football like a baby as well as my boyfriends shoe (just the one)

One day she is restless going from one nesting spot to the next then back to me, then back to her nesting boxes but the next day she is back to normal and we think a little too active for a cat who should be going into labour any day now.

She hasn't seen a vet for a few reasons, we were going with the wait and see approach but now I'm thinking its a phantom pregnancy or maybe just wishful thinking on my part as she has not gotten much bigger, you can only see the bump when she lays on her side.

I know there is still time and it could still go either way but the longer I wait to see if there will be a kitten the more I think that I'm just reading too much into things and hoping for a kitten.

Don't really know if there is any help anyone can offer but if anyone has had a similar experience I would love to hear which way it went.

Ah, such a hard time to wait.  I have a pregnant one now who is also very small.  There is one way to know for sure phantom pregnancy or not.  That is, fetal movement.  When kitty is lying on her side, place yor fingers gently and wait for a few minutes for movement.  Have you felt any?  You should have by now if she is really pregnant.

That is so cute that she carries around things in her mouth.

I have tried but she wont stay still long enough, I thought I felt something last week, she was purring and I felt a movement, like a twitch going in the opposite direction, if the purring was horizontal then the twitching was vertical if that makes sense. but she hasn't let me try since.

Its adorable, especially when she tries to move my boyfriends shoe which is roughly the same size as her but she does insist that the shoe should go next to her nest not in the shoe spot.

You'll have to just try to catch her when she is in a deep sleep.  Gentle fingers are best and I find that it helps if someone is distracting her by also petting her favorite spots (under her chin or side of face) at the same time.

Her instincts are so strong that it would be quite odd to have a phantom pregnancy at this point.

The only other way to know for sure is to have an xray or ultrasound done.  So if by day 70 she still hasn't had them, a vet visit would be a wise thing to do IMO.

Were running out of vets we can take her to. The first vet we were registered with was far too rough with Trixie at her post spay checkup making her bruising much worse, he was also mean and very rude, the second vet had never heard of cat acne (Trixie gets it when the weather is hot) so now we are trying to find a new vet which is the main reason Pixie hasn't seen a vet yet, I'm trying to find one we are all happy with.

I will try having my boyfriend distract her so I can feel, I thought I saw some movement the other day but it came and went very suddenly so I'm not entirely sure what I saw.

Do you actually know when she mated?  65 days from first mating is an average, up to 70 days is not unknown or a problem.

However you do need to resolve your vet situation PDQ just in case she needs help, and to get her spayed afterwards.  She should also have been wormed.  In the UK you can buy Panacur without a prescription and it deals with roundworms in cats and kittens, but Milbemax is a broader spectrum wormer but one has to get it from the vets.  I gather it's not available in the US.

Queens behave pretty normally until the last week or so.

If she mated it was the 29th or 30th of March, I know I kept her away from the tom but I had to go away on the 29th and 30th and left Pixie with my housemate. She came out of heat a few days later and hasn't been back in.

The first vet I can call if I need them I trust him to know what hes doing we just don't like how rough he is with the cats and how condescending he is to me.

She is flea and worm treated, thankfully I can buy these things over the counter from the first vet without having to talk to him. The receptionists know their stuff.

She is spending alot of time cleaning her lady parts and grooming in general, She is currently curled up under the cover on my bed, hope she doesn't chose there.

Pixie has been very vocal today, wondering around the room from nesting box to box chattering away, she brought me her stuffed football but now she is fast asleep next to me again, wish she would make up her mind.

Tried feeling her belly again but she will have none of it and she keeps fidgeting and getting up to move just out of my reach, sneaky kitty.

I have noticed Pixie's tummy twitching today, she doesn't seem to notice shes currently chasing a fly around the room, making her very cute chattering noise :)

I can try but my phone camera is rubbish, Ill have to try get one when my boyfriend is here his is much better.

I'm deffinatly starting to think its just a phantom pregnancy, although she is very loving today and very talkative but they are both being very talkative so I wonder if they can just tell I'm poorly? either that or they are getting fed up of being seperated.

If she mated on the 30th March, 65 days is 3rd June and 70 days is 8th June so she could be pregnant and still have a day or two to go.

She seems a bit active for a cat days away from labor, or she has been, today she is sleeping when she isn't climbing all over me for attention, were ready for if she does have babies but my boyfriend thinks I just hope she will.

I know sometimes it is very hard to tell, it will resolve either way in a few days.  I did have a foster once who was climbing the curtains a few days before labor, cats energy level varies a lot, some even have an increase in the days before.

She found a new sleeping spot, on a clean towel I brought back from the wash

Not as loving or as vocal today, apart from when my alarm went off and they both came running, they do it every time, bless

Nope, in fact if I didn't know better I would say that my other cat Trixie is acting more like she is about to go into labor than Pixie is, Phoning the vet tomorrow to have her checked.
