Hi! I just joined and want to introduce myself.

I was never a cat lover (GASP-I know!!) until after college when I moved out on my own. I was way too busy to train a puppy, so I adopted a rescue kitten. Little did I know I'd fall head over heels in love with her. My grumpy old lady Willow :rbheart: she was my faithful best friend for over 10 years, thru getting married, having kids, many, many military moves and my husbands deployments. She was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and CRF last fall and although we both fought our hearts out trying to keep her here, I had to have her put to sleep in January. Worst day of my life so far.

I also have an 8-year-old boy, Gus, who was also a shelter kitty. He's so loving and affectionate, he follows me around, talks to me constantly, puts up with lots of love from the kids. He's just so sweet, I love him to bits.

Gus has been a bit lonely since we lost his sister, so we are adopting a Maine Coon baby this summer. He's currently 3 weeks old and I cannot wait to bring him home. He's a blue silver tabby and we are naming him Oliver. I think he will be a wonderful addition to our family and I hope he fits right in.

Welcome to TCS
You will find a lot of loving people here who care deeply about their furkids.  In fact, you might call some of us cat-crazy.

Welcome, I'm new to the forums too and it's been a really great place to connect and get some valuable information.

I know you must be really exited to get your new kitty home even though it will never replace the hole in your heart from loosing your sweet friend.

It's amazing how we always seem to be able to open up our hearts in spite of the losses along the way.

Welcome to TCS!  I lost one of my rainbow bridge babies to the same thing.  She passed a few weeks after I got married; so 9 years ago next month.  I still miss her!

I also love Maine Coons!!  My Mom has a kitty that is half maine coon and she is a hoot!!  Please post pics when you get to bring him home to meet Gus!
