Hi! I just joined and want to introduce myself.
I was never a cat lover (GASP-I know!!) until after college when I moved out on my own. I was way too busy to train a puppy, so I adopted a rescue kitten. Little did I know I'd fall head over heels in love with her. My grumpy old lady Willow she was my faithful best friend for over 10 years, thru getting married, having kids, many, many military moves and my husbands deployments. She was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and CRF last fall and although we both fought our hearts out trying to keep her here, I had to have her put to sleep in January. Worst day of my life so far.
I also have an 8-year-old boy, Gus, who was also a shelter kitty. He's so loving and affectionate, he follows me around, talks to me constantly, puts up with lots of love from the kids. He's just so sweet, I love him to bits.
Gus has been a bit lonely since we lost his sister, so we are adopting a Maine Coon baby this summer. He's currently 3 weeks old and I cannot wait to bring him home. He's a blue silver tabby and we are naming him Oliver. I think he will be a wonderful addition to our family and I hope he fits right in.
