Hello everyone,

I found this forum recently when I was on the internet, not even sure what I was looking for but ended up reading many posts about people and their much loved cats who had passed.  They made me cry as we recently lost our Jasper, 9 years old.  I will write more about him when I am able on the appropriate forum.  I find it hard to think about him without choking up.  At any rate we have his 2 litter mates, Mango and Pumpkin who we adore.  Mango's picture is my avatar.  I am also have having issues with Pumpkin and am not sure quite where to post about those.  He misses Jasper so much, I can tell.  I want to help him and do the best for him but am not sure what to do.  Oh well, this was supposed to be short intro, sorry.  Enuf for now!

Hi Gail,

I'm new here too, but would like to welcome you. I am so sorry for your loss and I know just how much loosing a furry child can hurt, I've certainly lost my share.

Personally, I don't see any difference because when you loose someone you love it's devastating. Jasper was so young and on top of loosing him at such a young age, you're also trying to help Mango cope as well. My heart goes out to you and Mango.

If you feel like talking about him and what happened I'm here. I wish I could tell you how to help Mango through this, but unfortunately I don't have anything to offer on that.

I'm sure you know that just being  there for him and giving him lots of love is all you can do right now, even though you would do anything  to take his pain away.

Thank you Kallie!  I am so happy to have found all you fellow kitty lovers.  I feel like I have a million questions, especially since my baby [well 9-year-old sweetie] died.  I have made major changes to the set up for my 2 other kitties to try and entice Pumpkin my other male kitty back into the house.  [Mango my female already spends most of the day in the house, on my lap, in my bed, on my head, under the covers, you get the picture.]  Yesterday, he spent the entire day under the couch, poor thing.  He wasn't going for it.  Can I post pictures of our ramps and new kitty trees?

P.S.  I even tried chicken to get him out from under the couch, no luck.  Oh yes, we have 2  standard poodles which is why he hides.  He used to be a house kitty.  But, I kept them in my room most of the day......

Thank you so much.  I believe I will post in the Behavior area about my Pumpkin who I am trying desperately to get back in the house to no avail.  Maybe someone there will have some insight or suggestions.
