I'm just wondering if anybody knows anything about this. Pookie Bear is 10 months old. We got her spayed at 5 1/2 months. It was her first heat, any we had un-neutered boy kitties howling at our door all times of the day and night.

Now it's 4 months later...we have a new boy kitty howling all nigh at our window? I really thought having her spayed would stop this. She is an inside cat. I take her out occasionally on a leash and harness. Any ideas?

I do have a neutered male Marmalade 4 years old, who does go out 2-3 times a day.

It may not be because of her. Some cats just like howling outside of people's windows :lol3:. Is it only the one cat? If so, it's probably not for her. If a lot of males were coming around I would suspect something, though. Does your neutered male show any interest (even just some indiscreet sniffing)? Sometimes, if the vet misses a bit of ovarian tissue she'll still go into heat (even though she can't get pregnant). But I think you'd have noticed her acting weird by now. So my guess is that this one cat just likes to serenade you.

Yes what you said does ring true.  The funny thing is, we live way out of town. We know who's cats are whose. Before we got her spayed the first one showed up. We got her spayed and this young grey male spends alot of time here. Our netured male is quite protective of her. He sits on her outside, and would really prefer that we kept her in the house!

She's only been out for a few excursions...but with my BF right beside her.
