I will begin by saying that the shelter vet has been contacted about this foster, Miss Z., and I'm waiting for her response.
Last evening, I noticed that one of Miss Z's eyes looked dark and unreflective. I was about 6 feet away from her and my glance was quite brief because she zoomed off. I scooped her up and took her to the bathroom where I could put on extra lights and examine her better. There was no discharge from her eye and her face appears normal, no signs of injury. The eye does not look irritated and doesn't appear infected. However, there is a dark red rim all along her third eyelid which was partly visible when I started examining her and slowly moved across nearly half her eye. It looked like a crimson line right across her eye, but only on the eyelid.
Has anyone seen this on their cat? Was it from an injury?
Miss Z. has C.H. and is both very feisty in chasing after other cats, but very aware of her vulnerability. She may have chased one of the others, froze as they turned on her and wobbled off balance so they could strike.
