I should have posted this sooner but I didn't think of it.  I belong to a black cat group on facebook and this came across the list the other day and I can't stop thinking about her.  I live in Colorado so there is no way I could get to her and even if I could my senior kitty won't live with another cat.

Here is the only info I have for her.  Maybe she is still alive she was scheduled to be put down on 5/26/12.  What a horrible way for her die after being so well cared for for 15 years;(

TO BE DESTROYED 5/26/12
Manhattan Center

My name is BEAUTY. My Animal ID # is A0932187.
I am a female black amer sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 15 years old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 05/13/2012 from NY 10021, owner surrender reason stated was OWN EVICT.

Oh my. I live in NC. I have a long haired black cat. I hope someone was able to give Beauty a wonderful home. I wish I was closer so I could rescue her.

It really breaks my heart to think of her living to this age and to end up dying in a shelter of all places.  I think of her owner and how well she cared for her and the other cats.  Imagine losing your home is bad enough but having to take your pets to a shelter is unspeakable agony.

this is so sad... im assuming it was euthanized? =[

i recently took in a 16yr old torti burmese who was set to be euthanized to try and find her home... unfortunately she passed a couple of weeks after we had her. At least she died warm and comfortable rather then in a shelter. so so sad
