Over the river and through the woods...
As I was getting ready to ask the question of the day, Harley (my orange tabby) decided he wanted my attention. Well, actually demanded my attention!
He has a habit of stretching up and digging his claws into my jeans to say "hey, pet me". Not only is it painful, but it gets a bit expensive replacing the jeans! It probably comes from when he was a kitten and I allowed him to climb me like I was a tree. Yeah, it was cute when he was 3 months old....not so much now when he's 18 lbs. I keep telling him a gentle little head butt would be fine, but he doesn't listen.

So, I'm changing the question I was going to ask to: how do your cats get your attention?

Well if you must know my Tooty, does her soft little purr/meow and rub up against you. (she's my profile picture by the way). Good  luck with your tree climber lol! Maybe some day he will listen.

Mine shout "NOW" well at least thats what it sounds like to me
the worst is Jasper when he wants to go out, he shouts and scratches the window really fast with his both front paws, if I put mittens on him he could really do a lovely job on cleaning the windows

Trout MEOWS nonstop. Usually I have no idea why...like yesterday she meowed for hours. She had food, water, a clean litterbox etc...there no was apparent reason!

Aristotle will simply climb into my arms - usually when I am diligently working at the computer.

Well - Pipsqueak is the most demanding cat I have and is always after me for attention. Mostly to play fetch with him, feed him a treat, or snuggle on the couch. He will get right under my feet, literally. Rub against my legs. And if that doesn't work, he will get on the counters and nip and bat at me when I walk by.

Presley will just throw himself on my lap. He is my cuddle bug and LOVES to snuggle up. The other's have different ways to get what they want from. Meowing incessantly, staring at me from on the table. Perkins will try to head bump me when he is hungry :lol3: I love it when the babies want my attention, :heart3:

When I'm at the computer and Mollipop walks into the room, she'll come over to me and raise up on her rear legs, putting her paws on my thigh. Then she'll start meowing and waving one front paw in the air, so I can pick her up. I grab her and she plops herself over my right shoulder. And that's where she'll stay, purring the whole time.

Molli and Tabby know that Da Bird lives in the hall closet and when they want to play, they'll sit by the door and yell at me until Da Bird comes out to play.

BooBoo has a bottomless tail with matching paws, so he goes through a lot of food. He gets a steriod shot about twice a year for really bad allergies and the shot makes him ravenous. The best way to get my attention? Stare, stare, stare. I can actually feel his eyes boring a hole right through me. And then, when we've made eye contact, he'll become Mama's pretty boy, trying to talk me into a snack. And it always works. And when I'm home during the day, his belly is on a two-hour schedule. Every two hours during the entire day, he'll come looking for me because it's snack time. Every two hours. How he tells time is beyond me. But it's always two hours, almost to the minute.

When Ms. Pepe wants a brushing, she'll come into the bathroom and sit in front of the closet door. She knows their grooming tools are in there and she'll meow at me until the tools come out and she gets her brushing. The other day my sister was here and she was washing her hands in the bathroom. Pepe came cruising in, saw my sister and figured there was an easy mark in the bathroom. My sister knows Pepe's routine and pretty soon she came out of the bathroom, holding the brush with Pepe right behind her. And Pepe got her brushing.

The Old Ladies pretty much stay to themselves, unless they're hungry. They meow for meals. Whisper is Daddy's little girl more so than Mommy's, so she'll stay with Rick.

When Rick gets dressed for work in the morning, Amber Louise will sit in the cat napper at the bedroom window and paw at Rick to stop dressing and pay attention to her. Now. As she's gotten older, she's realized that attention is a good thing indeed.

And Tabby? Well, Tabby is the most vocal cat we've ever met. That girl is constantly talking and chattering away. She talks to us, she talks to her meeces, she talks to the other cats. We've gotten to the point now where we can understand what she wants from the tone of her talk. We cannot shut any door (other than the closet doors) in the house. She thinks I don't know how to use the bathroom without help (so does Molli), so Molli and Tabby are usually both in the bathroom with me. Tabby likes to sit on the back of the toilet and place her head on my left shoulder and chat with me, purring away. It's just what she does. Even if it's 2:00 in the morning.

Mine follow me all around the house. Miagi usually meows at me. Now.. he is a big love bug but more of an attention seeker when he wants to be fed.  Tiger usually crawls into my lap or rubs up against me. Angel, well she follows me around the house and squeaks.
