OK so here is the deal. I have a beautiful boy named Finn. He was having some blood in his stool so I took him in and they said not to worry he was just straining but they did find a lesion in his gum that made him nervous. So off the vet to be sure he can take anesthesia - good news there his heart has stablelized and they have no future worry of cardiac problems - Big Yea!!!
He went to dentist today and went under fine - they have to pull three teeth due to exposed roots. They sent the lesion out for a biopsy. The dentist said it is not a hard spot so that is a plus but he doesn't like the location which is behind back tooth. All his other tests came back fine, heart, kidney, liver, blood etc...his lymph nodes are not swollen and he only just turned seven which I read is on the young side for cancer.
So with the Memorial Day holiday it won't be till end of next week for test results. I love my little man so much and I am sick with worry. I know I should keep busy but I just want to lay on the couch and cuddle him and cry - yeah real healthy right?
Finally my question is: how do you cope with worry of upcoming diagnosis? Please don;t give me stories of how this happened to your cat and he had cancer. I don't think I can take that.
My vet don't read the internet it will freak you out. I do know this is a very supportive community so well wishes, prayers and an answer on how to cope with the fears will help.
Thanks,
Erin
