Penelope has started doing great, she is completely a different kitten from what she was a few weeks ago. She eats well, but I think she is now constipated. She doesn't poop much, and what she does tends to be more like rabbit poop little small balls that are hard and dry, sometimes it's bigger but often hard and dry. She sometimes gets really bad gas too. It has been going on for a few days so I don't think it will pass on it's own. I want to give her pumpkin but I am unsure how much would be good, I know too much is bad. She is about 8 weeks old and 10.5 oz, very small but growing. So how much do you think would be effective, or is there something else that might help her more?

I would definitely try the pumpkin. What I've used in the past is half a teaspoon mixed in with one tablespoon of their wet food. My cats don't get large meals each feeding, just small amounts. You don't want too much pumpkin because of the taste and it might work too well if she eats too much all of a sudden.

She eats about a teaspoon at almost every meal, which is about every 3 hours when my bottle kitten eats. Sometimes she takes a few licks and is done and others she eats a bunch. I warm up 2 spoonfuls of the a/d, kitten formula, Viyo mixture the Vet recommended, and her and Delilah split it. I could add a little to that mixture and they can get a bit at every meal. I gave her a little on my finger just because I am afraid to give her too much, and she liked the taste. So would half a teaspoon be an ok amount to give her, or should I give her a little less with her being so small.

Perhaps a full teaspoon daily split between her meals, which is probably just the tip of a teaspoon for each meal. Start really small and add a little more if needed.

My vet had me give Finny a little Miralax in a dropper and it seemed to work fine.  I think you could mix it in with wet food too.  Kisses to your sweet Penelope - super cute name by the way.

One of my cats has a problem with constipation too. The pumpkin does helps. My vet also suggested I mix a small amount (1/2 teas., but start with much less) of unflavored Metamucil to his canned food. This often does the trick. I change their water frequently as drinking more water seems to help constipation.

I found pumpkin and metamucil also helped with my cat's loose stools.  It seems to work in both manners, for constipation and diarrhea/loose stools.
