Phew - luckily Netscape conformed to IE standards in later versions - I think Netscape 7 is the latest version?

Yes... Netscape 7.1 is the latest for Operating Systems: Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Mac OS X 10.1.x
Mac OS X 10.2.x and later.

I am running the latest Netscape for MacOS 9.2...and that is version 6.2... LOL!

Ok, I am now viewing from IE on a friend's pc. Totally different! I now see the scrolling text in the "new on the forums section", and the rest of it looks great too: a completely different look from what I see on my Mac. I realize that we Mac users are few and far between, but frankly what I see at home isn't close to what it really looks like. No offense intended, but it looks like an unfinished version. Perhaps the designers can look into it.

Deb, have you tried upgrading your version of Netscape for Mac? I think it may solve at least some of the problems.

Designing a page to make it cross browser compatible comes with a price - not everything can be displayed the way you want it to. I compromised with this design as well - not shooting only for users of IE 7
Which means less use of CSS and more use of cumbersome html tables - just so most people will be able to view the content.

Please let me know if the latest browser version on for your computer also has those problems.

Oh and thanks for the compliments everyone! And special thanks to hissy for cyber nagging me to do this

Well, I guess the new homepage is not compatible with IE for Mac. I have upgraded my IE on both my desktop and my laptop (one runs OS 9 and the other OS X) to the latest available.

I do not like Netscape myself. I always have a lot of issues with it shutting down on me.
